Exodus tells us of a couple tasks the Hebrew slaves in Egypt had to undertake: painting their door-frames with blood, & 'not touching or having' any leaven for a week every year.

Is that first task somehow prophesying Jesus' blood (the way Christians claim to be baptized in it, how He is our "lamb without blemish")?

What then is today's 'leaven' (as 'leaving it out' seems central to the Passover-observance)
(Could it be ... oh, could it be ... ... ... "SayyyTin?:P )
(1/31/14) In Mark 8:15, Jesus said to "beware of the leaven of the Pharisees" and got mad at His disciples when they didn't know that He wasn't talking about 'bread' ... what WAS He talking about ???

The little bit I read on Let Us Reason Ministries' work on the Leaven of the Pharisees helps me realize that their 'leaven' (ingredient that 'puffs up' what they're cooking) is much the same as that of today's "Science-ians' (which one must for a time accept & promote, as the Apostle Paul did the Pharisees back when he was the mass-persecutor Saul).

So I think Jesus was talking about 'what puffs-up ANY group/religion above God.' Scientists have 'proof & disproof.' Atheists have 'logic & reason.' Christians (& most other 'religions,' I imagine) have 'goodness.' Liberals have 'freedom.' Conservatives have 'family-security.' ... what other groups have "leaven" to leave out for the glory of God? (or did I get any of the above groups' 'leavens' wrong?)

Passover was a memorial celebration; therefore the Scriptural command was: “And it must occur that when your sons say to you, ‘What does this service mean to you?’ then you must say, ‘It is the sacrifice of the passover to Jehovah, who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt when he plagued the Egyptians, but he delivered our houses.’”—Ex 12:26, 27.

WHAT DOES IT HAVE TO DO WITH JESUS?

Nisan 14 was the date on the Jewish calendar when Passover began.

That same day every year is celebrated as a memorial for a command Jesus gave his apostles the night he was to be killed. The command was "Keep doing this in rememberance of me"because of the significance his death would have on the human race.Found at Luke 22:19

Jesus was the sacrificial lamb,as the blood was used in 1st Passover.

And the leaven ... did it have any significance beyond just 'that it's what puffs up a group's leadership'?

Every year at The Memorial wine and unleavened bread are passed to those in attendance. The wine stands for Jesus blood the bread stands for his body.No additives are added to either cos Jesus was sinless. Those that partake <eat & drink>either are part of the governing body with Jesus in heaven or part of the 144000 that Revelation speaks of or the little flock that Jesus referred to.

The date of The Memorial is Nisan 14 <Jewish calendar>.This yr April 14th after sundown at a kingdom hall near you.All are invited.

The enlightened meaning is buried in the animal symbolism >:(
