No cable for me - can't afford that - I do Netflix only right now but am very intrigued by and interested in the product you discussed so thanks for the information - always interested in ways to enjoy life and still save money.

I have a bundle deal with time warner and even though I think it is a little expensive it is easier for me just having the one company to deal with. I am not very technical so I have to go the easy route.

I currently live with my parents so I don't really pay this bill but it's good to see some prices.  I hope to move out within the year if I can find a job and was worried about this expense killing my budget.  Good to know there are some cheaper ways to get some cable without the nasty cost that comes with it.  Is this antenna supposed to work most places or only in cities?

@aflyingmonkey: How do your run Time Warner through Roku.  I've heard it's possible but most people seem to have issues with it.

SHOW YOUR BILL PROOF! Many will want to see the savings.

You missed my point, there IS NO BILL anymore. Once you buy the antenna it's yours with no monthly payments to pay for watching content.

I will need to check out this option. I have gotten rib of cable TV once and when I signed up for it again, they cut my bill by 50% for two years. I don't have HDTV but I know there are antennas out there that would save me a ton of money.

We've had satellite since 2000.  Before that we had the local cable and it was ok but bill kept going up every month so we switched.  Now I'm fed up with satellite cause it seems they are inching up on prices every few months or so.  Anyway, my husband had a chance to buy one of the new antenna's but it was used and doesn't work!  We were gonna use it in our gameroom only.  We may still try to get a new one but one of our daughters has antenna and she only gets 5-6 channels.  Guess it depends on where you live.

I think that is what we are gonna do too. We have been spending a lot of money for crapy channels.

Time Warner streams trough Roku using an app ( I believe ), I've only heard that it can be done through word of mouth & Rokus are about half of AppleTV so it is worth a try.

I've got a total of 5 TVs running.   Two are now without the cable boxes & getting tweeked.  YAY
I am using AppleTV along with a digital box on one HDTV, & it doesn't get the TWC app yet, but does have HBO GO app.
I have a new Smart TV & it doesn't have even the HBO GO app, just Netflix, etc... , I need to try out the roku on it & or an antenna because it can't pick up any stations naturally at all.
I have one TV that is picking up everything through XBOX live subscription, even HBO GO, but not TWC.

There are a lot of options out there to be explored.

I no longer have cable. I tried Comcast for awhile, but it was just too expensive. Netflix is a good deal, however, I
dropped them due to privacy issues. They had a class action lawsuit because of consumer privacy concers. I don't
watch much tv nowadays. Besides, I'm sure the tel-lie-vision was watching me more than I was watching it. lol!

Cable is the way to for us.  We had direct TV but every time the weather acted up we'd lose reception, now we don't.  Everything is bundled (phone, internet, and TV) and we pay $130/month.
I would love to find another way to get tv other than what I have right now. I pay 156.00 a month but I have everything bundled. The area I live in I can't receive anything without cable. I don't have a dish but the power goes off quite often and then you have to reboot the system. I guess there really isn't much of a reason for me to complain though; I do get all the channels.

I understand where you are coming from cause I'm in the same boat - only thing is I already have one of those fangle dangle antennas but I only get "certain" channels on it so if I were to drop cable I would be losing a lot of channels and I'm not too sure about Netflix cause I'm not much of a "movie buff" - I prefer 1 hr. shows or sitcoms.  So I'm kinda stuck for the moment but if they keep raising the price I might just have to quit the cable.
