In the King James Version of Genesis 4:7, God tells Cain, "If thou doest not well, sin lieth in wait at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire. And thou shalt rule over him?"

I checked that with BibleGateway's concordance (ALL the English versions of Genesis 4:7), but later translations reveal it to be more of a 'commandment'---instead of 'being given the ruling power over sin,' "we" (that is, those who are 'bad' simply because they are "less than" good) must take the ruling power over sin.

That's right. We who have been 'cast aside' through no fault of our own, we look for ways to 'justify' sins against the general public ... I was hit by a car, so I feel 'justified' in doing whatever I like to all the automobiles I can reach  I am poor, so I feel 'justified' in claiming any unwatched property as my own  :present: etc.

How can we 'take the ruling power' over sin when it is waiting at our door?

The bible says penalty of sin is death. It also says thru 1 man sin entered thus all have sinned.Jesus life was a ransom to buy back the life Adam threw away. The bible also says at death a man is acquitted of his sin.

Jesus will apply the value of his perfect life to those whom God finds worthy to life when HIS kingdom rules from heaven on earth after this satanic system is gone.

Funny how we all know how to recite The Lords Prayer <our father>and don't realize what it means.Just give it lip service.

Still, we each have to TAKE rule over sin in order to JOIN the Kingdom.

There is a difference between knowing whats wrong and practicing it and erring because of human weakness.

The key here is God sees the heart condition of all of us and HES not gonna be fooled.

Did you even read the passage I gave you, or could you only bear a few words before you shoved that 'church-sayings'-plank back into your eyes?

I'm not talking about 'the boogey-man fairy-tale' that churches have spun "sin" into, I'm talking about the force almost as real as gravity---which (just like gravity) you have to assert dominion-over to avoid falling-to.
