As an earlier poster said,you gave an incomplete verse.Not the best way to argue a point-by taking quotes out of context.

I admit to not being familiar with "Church of Christers",but my question was,isn't it more fruitful service to go after cults and beliefs that dismiss essential Christian doctrine,instead?It seems like you're more interested in putting out a brush fire with a pail,in the midst of a forest fire.

Did you READ my 'quote' & the full 'quote'? Mine ended '... for they know not ...'; the "full" quote ended '... for they know not what they do.' The point I was making was that they were forgiven for 'not knowing' (whether they were stupid enough to go ahead and act without all needed information wasn't the point).

And ... I think I AM doing that "more-fruitful service": the Church of Christ (and many other 'denominations') treat religion like its main purpose is 'getting ready to die.' Doing that at-all takes away from the 'getting ready to LIVE' that Jesus wanted us to focus-on.
