I don't like citron, which is in standard fruit cakes and gives it the nasty taste. I like icebox fruitcake, which is made with graham crackers, nuts, cherries, etc., but no citron.

I recall that I received a fruitcake as a gift and gave it away to someone because I smelled alcohol in it.  I had my daughter to think of (what if she took a piece of that cake and it changed my baby into something) and I don't personally eat fruitcake.  The person I gave it to asked me to make another one and told me that fruitcake was potent (full of alcohol).  I explained to him that fruitcake was a gift and I don't eat fruitcake.  It is good that you enjoy yours so much.  I wish you a very Merry Christmas and the most prosperous of New Year's.   :present:

I like when my grandpa makes it, but not the store bought kinds.  I don't have my grandpa's very often though, since he said it's expensive to make.

I don't think I've ever actually had it.  My Christmas cake is generally chess cake so I don't know if fruit cake has ever really made it into the house.

My mother use to make fruit cake that we would eat with a slice of cheese on it.  The cheese is delicious with the fruits.

Fruitcakes are not for me.  I don't like their spicy flavor.

No, I don't eat the stuff. I find it really gross and try not to even go near the stuff. lol I think most if not all of my family doesn't like it either, so we never have it around. And thankfully, no one ever gives us any either!

I'll eat fruitcake. It's not that bad to me.
