aloe vera is my best friend in the summer  ;D

any kind, really.
the gel straight from the plant is magical, though.

actually the alcohol can dehydrate you more, and therefore make it worse in the long run.....

rehydrate with water.....

we keep a bottle of aloe vera with vitamin E in the refrigerator - that feels so good after being out in the sun...even when you haven't burned.

slice potatoes and lay the pieces on the burnt areas too. the potatoes will draw out the heat and add a little comfort.

Ugh.....I was swimming a couple weeks ago, and halfway through applying my SPF 50, I ran out.
BURN BABY BURN. At least I had a spray bottle full of Aloe Vera. I am burn-free now.  ;D

baking soda can do wonders for a sunburn too!
you can add it to your bath water,
OR make a paste to apply to the affected area(s) of your body.
the paste draws the heat out and works wonders,
although it'll leave behind a dry, crusty layer on top of the skin..

it's totally worth it, though, for the major relief.
