ADMIN - PTC - LAST STEP NOT WORKING
« on: November 21, 2013, 08:22:06 am »
So, I completed the PTC and on the last step, where you fill in the pop-up box and you visit TOLUNA, the TOLUNA page does not open and the DCE takes me back a step to the "Click here to redeem your 15cents and visit Toluna Opinions."

I can't get past this step today.

Admin.. any suggestions?  Thank you!'

Weird... not getting other complaints about this, and I just successfully completed the PTC myself.
Can you try a different browser?  Clear cookies & reboot?

OK, so I decided to try this using IE 11 and it worked.  The Toluna page opened and I was able to get through to the end of the PTC.  However, the page tells me:

"Towards tomorrow's PTC qualification, you've earned: 0¢ out of 5¢"

When I've already completed 10 videos for 10 cents before I was able to complete the PTC.

I normally use FIREFOX 25.0.1 (most updated version) for WINDOWS 8.1, when I'm on FC and never had ANY problems before.  I don't understand why I can't use it now.  Needless to say, I HATE Internet Explorer and Chrome, LOL.

Cookies/cache clearing and reboot might work.

Anything you earn before completing the PTC offer will not count towards the next days' PTC requirement.  That's kind of the point :)  You have to earn 5c in between each PTC credit.

I use Private Browsing on Firefox, so there are no cookies or cache to clear - and DUH on the 5 cent thingy for the PTC - completely slipped my mind, LOL.  :)

@BlackSheepNY, for what it's worth, I had the same issue as you today using Firefox.

I always use Firefox too, but today for some reason, I wasn't getting a pop-up after entering the CAPTCHA, and Toluna never loaded. A dump of cache and cookies and a reboot didn't resolve the issue.

I played around to see if maybe it was one of my addons causing grief, so I disabled all of the addons with the exception of flash, and even that didn't resolve it.

I used Chrome and it worked fine.

We'll see what happens tomorrow morning.

Maybe Firefox had an update, and something in the update is causing the glitch? Right now I'm on Firefox 25.0.1

Thanks for the update, mawhite.  I just (hopefully) put in a fix for this.  Please let us know if it happens again.

Thanks for this post!  It's nice to know I wasn't alone, LOL.  My version of Firefox is the same as yours (25.0.1).  Firefox hasn't updated lately, so I can't say it was the browser (since it's what I use 110% of the time).  I thought maybe it was my OS (being Windows 8.1), but not sure about that, either.  I've even been having problems with some of the surveys crediting on Firefox (where I never had a problem before).  Obviously, something's changed - but where, I can't say.

For the time being, since everything seems to be working fine with it, I'll stick to doing Fusion Cash on IE 11 (even though I can't stand Internet Explorer).  I was even able to complete an AMPSurvey and get credit for it RIGHT AWAY (which I've had many problems with getting credit on Firefox.  I actually lost 3 credits and that's a lot of money.).

As far as the PTC goes, IE 11 seems to be working for that, too.

I read Admin's post and I'm glad he looked in to it.  :)  Again, thanks to both of you for your posts.

@BlackSheepNY - You're welcome, it is good to know someone other than you is having the problem... I always immediately think I have some type of malware when something's not working the way it always has. I did a  scan yesterday just to be on the safe side too, but all is good.

@Administrator - weird, but it did happen for me again today too. It's not the end of the world, I can just use Chrome which works fine.

Thanks! I tested it this morning using Firefox, but oddly enough the same thing happened.  I wish I could figure out exactly what it is going on with my browser that's causing this. I disabled all of my addons with the exception of Flash.

I think tomorrow, I'm going to re-enable java and then give it a try... see if maybe having java disabled was the problem for me. I'll update on how it goes after :)

It still works fine in Chrome though, so no worries!

Well, even with java enabled, I got the same problem today. It's got to be something with just my computer, so I'll just keep on using Chrome.

The latest fix I put in was just reverting back to the way it was in early November.  So if it's still not working for you, I would also guess it might be your browser.
Another thing to try is this:  while on any PTC page, using Firefox, press "Ctrl+Shift+R" to trigger a "full refresh".
That might make it work for you.

Thank you! I totally forgot this morning and launched Chrome, but tomorrow I'll try a refresh on Firefox. If that doesn't do it, I'll make a new Firefox profile and see if that helps. And if even that doesn't work, I'll just go back to using Chrome. Thank you again for all your help!
