Tell me something, do your hate when a telemarketer calls you just when you are about to sit down to dinner. Tel me what you think of that.

I hate when they call ANY time.  I'm on a "no call" list, but of course, they ignore those facts.  When they get really annoying and start calling 10 times a day, I'll put my daughter-in-law on the phone to tick them off as much as we get ticked off.  You see, she'll speak to them in Russian and they just HATE that, LOL!!!

I've been on a no-call list for years.  Haven't had many problems with commercial telemarkerers, but do receive lots of call from charities.  Charities are exempt from the no-call list.

My common respond to them is that I do not make any commitment for a charitable contribution over the phone, but if they want to mail me the information, I will consider a donation when I decide which charities get my limited resources.

I also use my answering machine to screen calls that come in -- particularly at dinnertime.

As a salesman, I use cold-calling as part of my marketing. In our defense, we don't know that 10 other marketers have called you. There's no need to be mean or rude to them, they're just doing their jobs. They don't know that you "just sat down for dinner", they call during those times because that's when the most people are home (4-7pm). If they're nice and respectful to you, please be nice to them.

I don't pick up any phone numbers I don't know...  The last time I picked up a unknown phone number was a call from an angry dude accusing me of sleeping with a girl I have no idea existed... If for any reason people need to call me, there is voice mail

Some people can't help but to answer the phone.  If it's important you can listen to the voice mail after or call them back later.  I don't think people intentionally disturb you while you are eating, I am sure they don't know what your schedule.  Telemarketers really don't care when they call, but that is why I have a block on my phone.

I dont like getting phone calls when I sitting down to eat anytime. If it's important they can leave a voice mail or text message.

It is annoying to get a phone call during dinner, especially when you are trying to relax after a long day of work. And the telemarketer usually  is doing a survey that isn't what you care about. If only they would mail their surveys to people's homes that way if someone doesn't want to answer, that means they aren't interested.

I hate that especially if I'm still preparing dinner or trying to get it on the table while it's still hot. At that point I will usually tell them that I can't talk.

I hate when a telemarketer calls me at any time of the day.  But honestly people eat at all different times and they don't know when YOU are sitting down to dinner.  And there is a simple fix...Most people have caller ID so if you know it's not somebody you want to talk to then don't answer the phone or if you answer and it's a telemarketer then just hang up.

They shouldn't be.  Nobody should be allowed to call MY phone and ask ME for money.
