$100
« on: November 19, 2013, 12:02:17 pm »
Have you ever realized the value of money is less and less each year? let's face it I went shopping today with $100 and came out with 8 items and 1 trip to lunch.. That's not going very far.. Christmas time is coming up.. You got all these sells for everything but by the time you reach your destination and look into your purse or wallet it's all gone..$100 don't get you much anymore it doesn't go far at all... You could always stretch it but in the end if you really look at it how much more do you really get? The $1.00's still add up.

I also realized this while working on fusioncash. you get .75 here and .75 there $1.00 here and .50 here it all adds up.. even the pennies.. Now if you looked at it as loosing money it is the same process it adds up fast. Boy money really has lost it's value. We all talk about what we are going to do when we win the lottery...I'm pretty sure we will not really meet our expectations if we ever do hit the lottery..

I completely agree. The value of money is dropping drastically. There are several factors that come into play with observing the loss in the value of money. To avoid monetary depreciation, one might use investments to counteract the downward economy. But at the same time, our monetary system is slowly imploding and at some point in the future I am almost positive everything will blow up in our faces and a new monetary unit will have to be used. All of the investments will be lost with the death of our system. Who knows, just some thoughts.

yes things seem to be up in price.I'll buy a turkey from safeway for about 12-13 dollars when you buy 30.00 worth of other stuff. Seems ok I suppose. Had to buy cold medicine even the store brand was almost 6.00 really surprised at that. Gas is still very high I remember in 1975 it was 1.00 a gallon and folks complained about that.

Nothing new, I remember when I was a kid 65 years ago my mom telling me how they bought bread for 5 cents a loaf and gas for a nickel a gallon.

NOt very far. You can't even buy groceries for the week for that anymore. The  continuing to borrow against our debt and raising the limit only makes the value of our dollar less. But how do we stop it? WE CAN'T! It is unfortunate that Americans cannot be in more control of their future!

Yeah I remember when a twenty dollar bill could fill my car with gas and still have almost half of it left :)

I agree. Money does go very fast. It seems prices keep going up but people's pay is definitely not rising :(

Tell me about it.  Women make $0.71 per dollar versus men.  My hubby finds extra work on the side.  He just found out that he has reached his first year of unemployment.  Luckily, he has a bank account with a few dollars in it.  I am waiting for a job.  If I have to call the temp agency to find work, I will.  I like having my own money.  The money adds up on Fusion Cash.  I just got my second check through PayPal this week, and he doesn't know about it, seeing he thinks I am playing games on my laptop.  He is having my other laptop fixed because he needs a laptop to burn CD's.  But I am enjoying myself because my name is on the check through FC.

The value of one hundred dollars holds the same value as a precious penny.  I look at every cent as a new opportunity to make more money.  One penny becomes two, two becomes four and so on, so on, so forth.  I started making pennies six years ago and have yet to spend a shiny red cent on anything other than additional investments.  Now those pennies are making more money than I do on Fusion cash and other PTC sites that I frequent.  I don't stop working these sites because I have built a healthy habit that pays dividends and gives me a deep appreciation for every cent that I make.

Yes, things are simply more expensive and some are just plain over priced! I try and comparison shop, use coupons and sales.
