Skype is neat to use on the computer. You can talk with your friends or family through on the webcam. It is FREE! I just found out from my sister. I just downloaded skype and I haven't use it yet. I probably will use it anytime this week when my sister is available. It looks cool! It's unlimited and free to call! You can use skype in iphone!(WOW) I don't have iphone myself. But it sounds amazing to me that it can go on cell phone or pager!  Go & check the website: www.skype.com

My ex son in law gave my granddaughter skype acess ( PC camera ) for christmas.  He lives in Chicago and we live in Ga.  It really has helped her not miss him so much.  They video talk for 30 - 40 minutes at a time, she can show him her school work and crafts.  And it's free!

thanks, i will check it out. i was wondering how that all worked. i have the camera built in to my puter and don't have the patience to figure out what i'm supposed to do with it. i've seen them using skype on millionaire and oprah - and you're saying i can use it too, free? cool.

I will use skype regularly......Yes its very good and voice call has good clarity.video chat helpes me a lot...good site to go for voice and video calls over the internet.

I still haven't had a chance to use skype with my sister. She must be very busy and working with government. So, hopefully, I will be able to use it this weekend and see how it goes with me. I am sure it's badass!

When my mom and I were still speaking, we used Skype so she could see my baby since she didn't get to come here often.

Oh, that's neat. I sent an email to my mother in law and they don't get to see my girls that much. Skype will help a lot for us be able to see each other and keep updated regularly.

My in-laws use at all the time since their family is spread out all over the world. It's the only way some of their relatives in Egypt and Lebanon will ever see their extended family.

I just bought my mom a web cam and mic so that we can use it together. We live in the same state, but 3 hours apart, so we don't see each other as often as we'd like.

Skype's fantastic for staying in touch on the cheap.  I use the chat features, the video chat features, the SMS/text feature and calling, too.

They have the best rates I've seen for sending text messages to countries outside the US, usually half the competitor's rates.

And like the OP said, the iPhone app is killer.  At my old house my phone got pretty bad service so when I dropped a call I'd call back on skype - works fantastically.

it's a good service.
I use it to keep in touch with my online friends as well as some of my friends who have already gone off to college and moved away.

I have Skype on 24/7 and have found so many referrals by including a link in my Skype profile I can't count them all! I mostly use the text chat so I can multi-task, but also use the webcam to talk with family out of state. I think it's amazing that they can offer all that for free.
