of course it will!! our vets can't get their pay the military is shut down --Fort Knox here in KY is down--our parks are closed--and I don't think they even care about these people-we need a serious clean out in Washington and start over --I sure hope while they are shut down that their pay is shut down too!!!

There are many people within the US that are feeling the negative impact of the government shut down as I write.  Look at all the government employees who have been furloughed which means their pay checks have been shut down.  Not good, for certain individuals or the economy.

We can only hope that this issue will be resolved very, very soon.

I am one of the affected people, I work as a contract for EPA  and I am out, I basically live pay check to pay check, my hubby's salary is not enough to pay bills, so I guess I will not pay some bills that are not important for day to day like medical bills. Hopefully these bunch of idiots get there act together soon.  Washington needs a serious cleaning, hopefully everyone sees that and fire them all.

I think we need to "clean house" in Washington, DC from the top to the bottom and start all over.  Newbies in Congress surely couldn't mess things up as bad as it is now with all of the seasoned veteran politicians that have taken roots in Washington, DC.

Of course, the U.S. is being affected by this shutdown.  The Republicans are doing this to prove a point; they are in control.  The American people elected these gloryhogs into office and the American people are being thrown under the bus by the same gloryhogs who promised to fight for us.  Boehner claims he and they are looking out for the American people when it is obvious he and they could care less what happens to us.  What about the people who have retired and they depend on Social Security as their sole income?  Not everyone is trying to get over on the government.  Businesses are going to be ruined because we are being screwed by the same people we elected into office.  You are not going to tell me that the Republicans are going to hand over any part of their six-figure paycheck to help us out.  They are getting paid to shut down the government.  It is truly a bad day in Black Rock indeed.

Yes, it already has. Federal government workers are out of work while the  congress people still get paid to talk back and forth.

If it continues, it will make a major impact on the citizens of the US.  People will not be able to pay their bills because they had to leave their jobs.  They will not be able to shop at stores who depend on their business.

Yes! Of Course this could affect the U.S. in multiple ways. One that I can think of off the top of my head would affect anyone that tries to get a loan. If we happen to take a hit in the Credit Rating, Interest on Mortgages, car loans and any type of loan interest rate would go up. We would also have to pay a higher interest rate on the 16.8 Trillion dollar debt. This is a loan that we are paying basically just the interest rate payment.
