I learned the Kookaburra song at summer camp.  I always liked that one and wanted to see a real kookaburra.  Finally I got to see one at the Honolulu Zoo Hui.  Now we have one at the Rio Grande Zoo.  :D

I loved the songs, "Hush, Little Baby, Don't Say a Word", "Old McDonald's Farm", "I'm a Little Teapot", and "The Punchinella Song", among others.  Those are songs I heard as I was growing up.  I bought my granddaughter a Miss Teapot Doll and taught them the Teapot song.  They loved it.

Since I was raised in church one of the first songs I learned as a child was Jesus Loves Me followed by the B.I.B.L.E.. So my favorite was Jesus Loves Me. The first secular song I learned was Old MacDonald had a farm.

It's funny but, I can't remember any childhood songs.  What I do remember is hearing the "Big Bands," "Frank Sinatra," "Bing Crosby," "Sammy Davis, Jr.," etc., because my parents played their albums on the weekends.  My Dad would sing and grab my Mom and dance around the kitchen, LOL.  They most certainly instilled in me the appreciation of MUSIC.  :)

I have a lot of favorite songs as a child. I used to sing the alphabet song, ducks in the pond quack, three little monkeys jumping on the bed, hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, Yankee doodle, and a few island songs.

I'm sure some of those religious songs at the Church I attended to in the past were favorites, but my family liked to watch me do the "I'm a little Tea Pot" songs.

The first song that comes to mind is "I'm a Little Teapot."  I guess it's memorable because of all the hand motions that accompanied it.  But I vividly remember singing a popular grown up song that my daddy sang a lot called "When You Wore a Tulip."
