Dieting is so hard to do and I'm so proud of my husband for doing a 10 day juice diet...dropped 12lbs

My husband and I have been gaining weight the last couple of months, so we both decided yesterday to start eating healthier too.
We went grocery shopping and only bought healthy (or individually packed food, like 100 calorie snacks and small cereal bags to help us with portion control).

I don't agree with most fad dieting, it has to be a way of life. Otherwise you just gain it all back like my husband and I did!

YES - It's a moment to moment process.  Good luck on your process - getting new, smaller clothes might just work for you.

When I was younger I could lose weight really fast and easy.  Now that I am older and my metabolism has slowed down considerably, I can't lose a pound and I really need to.  I am way over weight and it's not good for me.  I am an emotional eater and have other problems happening to my body which makes it difficult to even walk.

I believe different food programs work well for different people.  I think my extra weight has been due to a sodium/potassium imbalance so I'm doing my best to get 4700 mg of potassium each day.  I wish that all food labels were required to list potassium amount per serving.

Some people might decrease their sodium which is okay, too; however, I know that by increasing my potassium I'll strengthen my heart which will help me burn fat whenever I do a cardio workout.

I believe that it's important to IMPROVE YOUR HEALTH when you want to lose weight instead of depriving yourself of the nutrients you need.

diets to me are lost cause.   You are what you eat and do.  I quit drinking soda years ago.  watch your sodium intake along with sugar.  Eat from a smaller plate and only "1" plate of food.  forget the seconds.

eat  more fruits and veggies they are so much better for you then chips and cookies.

get out and walk if you don't like to exercise.  just walk around the block,,,,,   next time walk around the block 2 times.    i walk in the evenings, (not a morning person) lol

try Zumba,,,,,    its a lot of fun and you don't have to know how to dance.  its great for your heart :)
