is anyone else or have they dieted? I gain weight easily but I'm lazy..  :angry7: so I ordered some cloths that were a bit to small intentionally to motivate me to try harder  I'm starting a serious diet today what about anyone else?  ;D
I am no good at it. I have tried to diet and lose weight, but can't stick with a plan to keep me from eating at night. I am still looking for the magic. I need to lose about 30 lbs or more. If you find something that works please post it. Cravings at night!

I too get lazy with diets. So instead of jumping into a "diet" I started making small changes, like instead of drinking 2 Cokes each day I cut down to 1 per day, I lost 5 lbs pretty quickly, then I cut down to one every other day and I drink regular iced tea (took some getting used to, I usually drank it with tons of sugar) but I lost more from those good choices. I also looked for tips on pinterest and one other thing that helped was "rewarding" myself. What you do is put a quarter in a jar or piggy bank if you don't exercise for 3 days that's fine just don't add money, but because you don't remove money for "failing" to exercise you are more likely to follow through (Been doing this for 3 weeks now I have about $5.00 I think). You can do this with anything and then buy something cute to wear once you have money saved up or reward yourself with a fancy dinner (because once in a while an extra treat makes it worth all the effort)
Hey that's a great idea! thanks for the tips I'll have to try those out  :) !

I am not dieting but I am trying to drink nothing but water (in addition to my food). I've been successful so far. Before, I didn't drink water at all. Just juice, soda, etc.

Losing weight is a mental thing. You have to be motivated, bottom line. If its something you really want stay the course. I do intense work out 4-5 days a week,(insanity) and I still walk every evening. Some times I ride my bike a few evening if I don't want to walk. You have to have a variety of things you van do so you wont get bored. I just watch my food intake and portion sizes. Also drink plenty of water. Good Luck!

watch  what  you  eat  and  walk  30 minutes  a day(helps  you relax).  I eat  cabbage and  seems to  be  helping me  lose some weight.

Do you know, I've tried to diet all my adult life, sometimes with success but mostly without.  I know the docs say you must exercise more, blah blah blah, but historically, the times that I've been succesfully it's because I ATE LESS !  Who knew?  BTW, when I have successfully lost weight, albeit without exercise, I have seen a definite improvement in my high blood pressure. So even without exercise, eating less is still good.

Good luck on your diet, try to stay motivated and it would be nice if you had some support maybe a family member or friend to help you even go on the diet with you! I like what you did bought clothes that were too small that's a good motivation!

I'm gonna start eating better - tomorrow  :BangHead:

Seriously, I'm gonna start substituting some of my junk foods and bad meals with meal replacement shakes - only like one per day. I've had great success with these types of shakes before and I'm gonna give it another whirl...

I try to diet occasionally but normally due not end up sticking to it. I get cravings for something sweet every night and end up giving in to it.

as long as you have the mindset that it is a "diet" you are setting yourself up for failure.

You need to make actual lifestyle changes you can LIVE WITH.

I started a diet January of 2012 and I lose 30lbs. Then I started in with some weird symptoms in June of that year and I'm still dealing with them. I have narrowed it down to 3 possible things but its hindering my weight loss and of course I gained most of it back. UGH! doc has been of no help so Im in the midst of switching. Hoping to get some answers. :BangHead:
