Anyone good with computers?

I have a Sager laptop and it works perfectly fine however the screen a few months back turned blue and pink tinted but then it reverted back to normal for a very long time but it happened again when I brought my laptop over to my sisters house. Then if I connect it to another screen such as my HD tv with an HDMI cable it looks fine on the tv, so how would I go about checking if it's the cable? I'm afraid to take apart this laptop but I can't exactly take this to the PC repair shop either because I live out in the middle of nowhere basically and the closest PC repair shop is 2-3 hours from my house.

i had many problems with my computer when i first got into computers, it just would not work, i did many recoveries and took it in to repair shops. the problem with repair shops is that they are alot of frauds. i would just go and buy a new computer from best buys, and save a whole lot of money

I'm guessing it's your computer's LCD screen or your graphics card. I mostly believe that your LCD screen has a problem since you don't have problems with your HDMI connection.

To check your graphics card:

Open Control Panel, click "System and Security" and then click "Device Manager." Open the "Display Adapters" section, double click on the name of your graphics card and then look for  "This device is working properly.

To check your LCD screen: I would suggest googling it, since it's quite technical and lengthy

Other then that I guess you could clean the computer (scan for viruses and/or aerosol your fan vents). But that's what basically everyone will say at the beginning. If you don't have Blue screen of death or random power failures then it's likely that it's either a LCD problem or graphic card. This problem happens due to faulty manufacturing, leaving your laptop on for to long, bad ventilation (hot air will melt or wear computer hardware), or drop/hit your screen to hard.

I don't want to give bad advice and suggest you try to fix it, so I suggest you either hire a specialist to fix your LCD screen. But if it was up to me I would get a new laptop

It sounds like your screen is bad, in which case your best bet would be to get a new laptop. The repair would cost too much, unless you could do it yourself, which probably isn't likely.

the thing is computers are so reasonably priced now that it almost makes no sense to repair them..by the time you pay the repairman you could have bought a newer updated one..

It sounds like it could be your graphics card.  Why not try updating the drivers for it (especially if it's been a while since you did that).

Try rolling back your driver and the try reupdating it. I dont trust the computer shops either. I have an emachine that I bought from best buy. I have had nothing but trouble with it. I even took it to the geek squad and they couldnt fix it. If you are running windows xp  you may want to consider going to windows 7 or 8. Xp is becoming outdated.
