Did you go to any dances when you were in high school?

Did you ever go to any dances when you were in high school? If so, what were they, and what was your experience?

I never went to anything while I was in high school.  I was too shy to do anything!  I hated that about myself and know I missed out on a lot of things growing up.  I'm much better now after having 2 daughters; didn't have a choice after they were born.  Had to actually start talking to people instead of running off hiding lol.

The only dance I went to was for my senior prom.

Nope.  None.  Never.  Sadly...I was never even asked to go to a dance.

Oh yeah at least 2-3 times a month. We lived in a small villiage . had 1 small theater and they would show the same show for a couple of weeks. But the dances were so much fun. Friends from across the wide area would all show up. Never any fights we were all just so grateful that we had something too do and besides we had good bands. And when there was not a dance going on we got to rollerskate in the hall and then of course when we were through we had to sweep, mop and wax the floor. Ant then came the basket ball games and  all the small schools would have a sockhop afterwards. Oh the good  oh days.

I went to 2. One was like a welcoming freshman kind of thing then the other one was Sadie Hawkins sophomore year. Never went to a formal one, like prom. During sophomore year I stopped going to a traditional high school. But I did enjoy both of them.

Yes, I went to several dances in HS but I was so shy I did not participate.
Sat on the sidelines like a wallflower.....I can always say I went though....lol.

I did not.  I hated high school.  I wasn't popular and didn't have many friends.

I went to my senior prom. I didn't get asked, but I had a great time with my friends and don't regret it. Besides, sisters before misters.

I was shy too, still am.  I was glad to be ignored in high school, it was better than being bullied some more.  Still I went solo to two dances:  the Sophmore Dance and senior year Homecoming.  A bunch of girls went solo sophomore year and we danced in a circle.  Homecoming however I got misunderstood and got saddled with a guy everyone thought was weird.  He was supposed to help a girl from another school get in so she could party with her female friend at our school, but he showed up late and she had already gotten in.  He thought it was a date and kept walking her around.  Next thing I knew they fixed me up with him and he started walking me around, saying he didn't fast dance.  Not the evening I had in mind.

I did not go to any dances. I had no interest in anything that happened after school hours which includes senior prom, playing a sport, and grad night (night school was an exception).

I went to dances in high school. It was usually with my friends. I was shy so I didn't dance with a lot of boys. They weren't terrible experiences. I didn't have a good home life and it was nice to get out and have some fun. I didn't go to prom. I went to a sleepover and we stayed up late watching headbangers ball on mtv.
