What is the first book you read that made you love to read?

Hmmm I don't remember the name of the book.  I wasn't very old. My mom gave me a little book of stories and poems when my siblings didn't want me tagging along with them.

But the first book I ever loved was definitely Runaway Ralph XD haha

My mom bought me the disney books like, Cindrella, Snow White, 101 Dalmations and had a whole collection from 3 to 5 years old from then on I made her take me to the library alot to get diffrent books, I loved it.

I've read and re-read the Kim Harrison series of witch/vampire books.  Do NOT compare to the whole Twilight craze!  This is an actual story line and it's great.  Really interesting and well thought out and stimulating.  Loved it!

As a kid I read Nancy Drew books.

I wanted to start with something small, so I went with the page count of the books and found 'The Alchemist' and read it. It was then that I realized that reading books was a great way to pass time.

I read this entire thread trying to jog my memory....have always loved to read but the first book that comes to mind is "Heidi" ...4th grade teacher read a chapter to us each day!

harry potter, read the first and got hooked, also read the sookie stackhouse series (true blood), and the twilight series

The first books I read with chapters and no pictures were Judy Blume books.  I loved "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing" and "Superfudge"

I don't remember the exact name of the first book. It was the Nancy Drew Mystery Stories. I just loved them.
