installation instructions

Sometimes, there are no instructions for installing a part.
I ordered a new motor part for my massage bed.
I called in the order.
I asked the lady if instructions came with the new motor [how to uninstall the old motor and how to install the new one.]
The lady said "anyone who does that type of thing [work] will know how to do it."
"Oh by the way",she said, "you have to unplug the bed when taking the motor out and putting the new one in."
I suppose that "anyone who does that type of work knows that."

Are people 'suppose' to have an instruction manuel in their heads?
 you might need "intuition" to install a part for "anything" you buy.....or have a handyman around who knows "everything".
There may or may not be instructions.

Yeah I hate when they don't put instruction on how to replace something. Some people need step by step instructions the companies out there think we should know how to do it automatically.  My sister in laws husband can't read or write but for some reason he can take a motor completely apart and rebuild it without the instructions but he had to learn to do it because he had that disability.

What I really dislike is when they give you a bunch of pictures or diagrams that don't help and no words.

When I don't have instructions, I get on my trusty computer and search the net for them.  You'd be surprised at what you find.

Or better yet when you get instructions in another language with no pictures. Or one with pictures that look nothing like what you have. I hate when that happens!

Exactly - there are online manuals and forums with people who provide pretty good detailed instructions for stuff like this.  Not to mention lots of help from youtube videos people put together.  Sometimes a little investigation on the internet can find you some of the "how-to's" that are missing.
