I have pretty much have had sinus infections all my life. I dont like those sinus things you spray up your nose. It makes me feel like I am drowning. Hopefully in 2 weeks I get my cat done and she can tell me what she can do to help my problem.

The first thing to do when you suspect you have sinus infection is to dilute 1/4 teaspoon of salt in 1 cup of warm water and then draw this solution into an ear bulb syringe. Gently place the bulb into your nose and squeeze while breathing into get the salt water up into the nasal passages where it can help clean away the mucus and decrease swelling. Inflammation in the nasal passageway creates nasal pressure that can lead to headaches and prolonged infection.

Add a piece of crushed ginger to cup of regular tea, this works as one of the simplest home remedies for sinus infections....

Buy a neti pot at your local drug store for less than 15 dollars use as directed, it works wonders for sinus problems and colds! I swear by it 100%

Neti pots work really well, but be sure to use distilled water and the medicine that comes with the pot. It's a little tricky to learn at first, but worth it, in my opinion.

Salt water is always good for a sore throat. It's very healing. Ibuprofen will help pain and inflammation. Stay away from over the counter nasal sprays. They have a negative rebound effect.  :bad:

Chicken soup is fabulous for colds and sinus infections.  :) Steam is also comforting. You can just get in the shower for a while or hold you head over a bowl of steaming hot water with a towel. Don't get upset. Eat if you feel like eating and don't eat if you don't feel like it.

Hot tea with lemon and honey is therapeutic and comforting, and it eases sore throats.
Drink tons of water so all that mucous junk can drain out of your body more quickly.

I have also heard that putting Mentholatum on your feet can stop a cough. Haven't given it too much of a trial 'cause I don't get many colds and such.

And don't forget taking some hefty quantities of Vitamin C.  Dr. Linus Pauling was a huge proponent of this.

Think happy thoughts, like you'll be better soon. Corny, but effective.

Yes, try and use the netipot solution.  That just poors in nose and clean all that mess out your head.  Do about 4 times a day to cure.  Better then medicaiton.
