« on: August 22, 2013, 10:55:33 am »
The holidays are just around the corner & I've been thinking about the foods , smells and variety that's always around. So, What are some of your fav holiday foods you like to have?

Some of mine are turkey and stuffing, home made bread and pumkin and apple pie for thanksgiving and for Christmas one time of year i indulge in sweets from candycane's to Ghirardelli chocolate squares (peppermint bark ) is my fav.

My Thanksgiving favorites are the same as yours - turkey with stuffing and apple and pumpkin pies. We usually have a fully prepared Honey ham for Christmas which is always a favorite plus molten lava cake for dessert. Yummy!

I always like the stuffing at Thanksgiving. For Christmas, well just sweets in general. I always get some cookies and chocolate. Things like that.

I also love turkey and dressing. I have many Holiday favorites. Ham, Homemade chicken & dumplings are 2 dishes that should be a part of every Holiday celebration. Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Roll, Pecan Pie are great for dessert. Red Velvet is also a must have at Christmas. I almost forgot we can't leave out the sweet potato casserole. Wow, just thinking about all this makes me hungry.

I love Thanksgiving dinner. And every Christmas, we make a French Toast Bake. Yummy.

We have a lot of traditional holiday foods. Baked stuffed shrimp, plum pudding, meat pie, grapenut pudding, mint surprise cookies, lite rice pudding, and the list goes on. It's those special foods that help bring back a lot of great memories.

Love roast, stuffed turkey and pumpkin pie, anything pumpkin.  I try to incorporate traditional foods from my family history at Christmas, but I've discovered so many countries it makes it a bit hard.  They my maternal heritage is Ukrainian so I celebrate Little Christmas with traditional Ukrainian foods too.  Mmm, that's comfort food, like my grandma used to make.  Gives me a warm fuzzy just thinking about it.
