I often think about leaving PA to live in a warmer climate, but won't because my family is all here.  Would I live in another country, no.  I know we have more than our share of problems, crime, unemployment, health costs, etc., but even with all our problems I still think the USA is the best place to live.

Not A Different Country . A Different State. If I Knew Now What I Knew Back Then, It Would Have Been Different :peace:

I would love to pack up and leave. Just can't afford to.

If I didn't have kids I would consider it. I'm not sure if I could change their life so much.

do you ever feel like just packing up and leaving? I went on vacation to costa rica and there met a few different people from the US that just packed up and left and have lived there 20 years. Would you do it?
Sure. Why not? I have done that from state to state already any way.

Yes but more like packing up and quitting my job.  Just have to find a way to earn money without actually working and I'll be set.

Not just pack and leave.
I packed and left but it took some time and preparation.
My wife and I immigrated to Canada

When I am frustrated and fed up with the current state of confusion I always threaten to run off and hunt Polar Bears.   Would I actually do it.  Heck no I hate the cold.

I'm ready to change states although we looked into going to Belize. But it's always a money issue and my boys are still too young. I want to live in Idaho but my husband is a Florida boy and he doesn't like it too cold.

If I was given the opportunity, I would.  There is nothing in my town that I have to be here for.  My mother lives in another state and my daughter lives in another town.

If I didn't have kids I probably would have packed up and left Illinois a long time ago.  Funny you mentioned Costa Rica.  My sister is a Spanish teacher and she has a passion for Costa Rica.  Many times she's taken high school students there to study.  After her first or second visit she bought property down there.  She wanted to move that direction after her son turned 18....as life would have it she ended up moving to North Carolina instead...closer to our other sister.  I believe she still dreams of the day she can drop everything and go...I don't know bout leaving the states in that regard for myself though.
