Does anyone else know how to become a legitimate secret shopper?

Actually  - someone here on FC sent me some information on that.. I registered with a few sites and there is work in my area but I've not yet followed through with any of it.  If you would like me to pass the information onto you...just shoot me an e-mail and I'll forward what she gave me.  krissytsmakes_cents@yahoo.com

I signed up with Bestmark they have a lot of secret shopping involving cars like getting an oil change or pretending to buy a car only problem is that the places are kind of far away from where I live. they did have one close buy and you pretended to want to  buy a car I didn't go cause I felt funny doing it but my son is looking to buy a car so maybe will take him if another one comes up.

I signed up one place few years ago, they did send me few places to go; however, they wanted me to buy things I don't need and had to be certain amount, then showed them the receipt, so they would send me check. Wasn't sure how things would go, so never went!!

I have been wondering about Secret Shopping too.  Now that I have some spare time its something I could do but I wonder how much opportunity there would be for me since I live in a town of little less than 25,000 people.

I know you're trying to be helpful and share positive information with others, but you need to find another way for people to contact you.  It's against the forum rules to post your e-mail address, or any other specific contact information.  You may want to edit your post before any FC staff sees it.  I wouldn't want you to get banned from the forum, or even worse, from FC altogether for breaking the forum rules. :(

I think there are a few jobs that you can get online doing it, mostly evaluation kinds of thing.  I think you can also go to the stores themselves to apply for jobs secret shopping.

Thanks Oroyon:  I saw someone else do it so I thought I'd put my e-mail in the forum.  I wasn't aware.  Ironically I had just posted under Old Buddy's post regarding  utilizing fusion cash at work...I guess I should look more closely at the rules myself huh!

I have been a secret shopper for a few years now.  I do a lot of shops for McDonald's, Hardee's, the post office, Texas Roadhouse, O'Charley's, Gold Star Chili, Staples, Aldi's, Radio Shack, AT&T, Verizon Wireless.  I use to do quite a few for Kroger but they are now doing customer feedback through the internet based on your receipt.  I only do the ones that are worthwhile.  Sometimes they get desperate to get shops done and will offer a nice bonus to do them.  There is a McDonald's I do every couple of months that they pay me $150 to shop because it is 90 miles away plus two free meals!
Have a wonderful day!

I signed up with one almost 2 years ago.  It is called second-to-none (DON'T SIGN UP).   I have in 2 years only seen like the same 3 jobs.  One is listening to someone talk and you gotta be over 45.  And one is a donut place.  And the pay is $7.  And the other is to buy cigarettes and you gotta be 18-24.

I emailed them and asked what the deal is.  Explained that for 2 years these were the only jobs ever on there and asked why or if only certain people saw the "good jobs".  That was about 3 weeks ago and they never answered me.
I honestly thought about deleting my profile.  Someone else may have had better luck with them.  I don't know.

I have talked to Bestmark on the phone.  But you have to give them your SS# to even get a shop.  Wasn't comfortable with that.
