Yes, I do a lot of cooking from scratch.  It's actually cheaper if you do cook from scratch often since you would have of the staples on hand.
Have a wonderful day!

I do almost all of my cooking from scratch. I have the advantage of being home so have time to do it. My grandmother started me on the road of cooking when i was quite young and have always enjoyed it.

I do my cooking from scratch and sometimes I have to scratch quite a bit, substituting this for that. I find packaged foods contain way too much salt, much more than we need!

I do most of my cooking from scratch.  I love to cook and experiment with recipes but I really hate to bake!

No I still use some processed foods but I'm trying to get away from that.

I like to cook from scratch so that I control the salt and the ingredients that go into my food.

Depends on what I'm cooking.  Pancakes, waffles, eggs, etc I tend to make from more or less scratch.  Other things I might use boxed bread crumbs, canned sauce, or spice mix to sorta speed up the process but that's about it.  I'm not really a fan of premade food unless I'm unable to cook like when at work.

I like to cook from scratch, although sometimes life becomes too busy to be able to have that luxury. I agree that it is cheaper and healthier than prepared foods and much cheaper than restaurants (remember that restaurants usually charge at least 3 times their food costs for each dish to cover their other expenses like employee wages, utilities, etc.). And when you cook for yourself, you can add ingredients for your own taste... You can add salt to your foods for taste and not as a preservative (thereby using less salt / sodium). Or substitute ingredients for something else better for you, like since I'm a diabetic, I try to use Splenda or some natural, zero-calorie sweetener instead of sugar.

When I was growing up most all of our meals were made from scratch. Both of my parents are good cooks and they tended to work well in the kitchen together (my dad tended to cook the main protein while my mom would make the side dishes, although for pastas and casseroles my mom would make everything). I was actually surprised how much I picked up from watching them or even the few times my mom would explain what she was doing while she cooked. For example while she was making a homemade mac and cheese, she explained how to make a bechamel sauce properly, and later she showed how using the same idea of making a roux for the bechamel could be expanded for deglazing a meat pan for its fats and juices to create a gravy. I sometimes wish that Home Ec. was required in high school to teach people these basic things so that they could cook for themselves at home.

I love to cook from scratch. It always taste better and makes me remember my grandparents. I would also love to learn how to can my veggies from the garden, my grandma always made jelly, jam, and canned all her veggies, they tasted so much better.

I cook from stratch most times.  I find that my husband loves most of the items I cook.  He does the cooking sometimes, especially when he wants his yams (sweet potatoes).  I keep my seasonings, things like flour and cornmeal, on hand.  When I want to cook something without much fuss and muss, I use packaged.  I buy completed pancake mix (just add water).  I find it is simpler.  I looked on the back of the flour bag and found a recipe for pancakes.  I have done them a few times.  I really cannot tell the difference.
