Not all tasks are bad!

I'm not a fan of tasks; most of them are pretty stupid, and no matter what I do, I don't get them right. Usually they aren't worth the time trying, for a cent or two. But I tried one today, for 12 cents, and that one was great! It was one of the ones where you have to find search engine rankings for keyword phrases.
So if you're like me, and normally don't do tasks, maybe you want to check these out!

I like those too. But for me it is a matter of typing. Sometimes when I try the 12 cents tasks I never complete the tasks before the 30 minutes expire. I am a slow typist.

The search tasks are 1 of my favorites. I had a little difficulty with the 12 cent ones. Perhaps I should  go back and re-read the directions.

My account is quite happy with those search for 3 keywords tasks. I find some tasks fun-like yesterday when I had to figure out the emotion of a robot.

For those type of search tasks, they are typically straight-forward.  I've found one or two where the verification answer cannot be found due to poor instructions, but those tend to be rare.

In general, just follow the instructions at the top of the page.

1.  If the task provides a link to open the search engine page - click the link (some tasks won't credit unless you click the link). 
2.  Type in the keywords the tasks asks you to search on and press enter. 
3.  Then look for an entry in the results that match the one in the task.  Record the page and ranking of the link - you may need to search through all of the first 10 pages to find it.  The ranking is the order it falls in the result list on the page (is it the first result, second, third,...).  Sometimes I cannot locate the page within the first 10 pages.  In that case, I select 10 as both the page and rank, and select the "cannot find URL" checkbox they provide.
4.  Click the link, then copy/paste a sentence from the page that opens that contains at least one of the keywords you searched on.  I try to find a sentence that contains as many of the words as possible.

The steps to anther similar search task, where at the end you need to verify a code or word, is the following:
1.  If the task provides a link to open the search engine page - click the link (some tasks won't credit unless you click the link). 
2.  Type in the keywords the tasks asks you to search on and press enter. 
3.  Then look for an entry in the results that match the one in the task.  Enter the rank (where the entry falls in the listing)
4.  Copy the black paragraph listed below (the short description the search engine provides for the result)
5.  Select the option you feel best represents how the description matches the search term (matches, doesn't match, sort-of matches)
6.  Before clicking on the link, go back to the instructions on the task - often on these after you click the search result link, the task instructs you to navigate to a different section of the page.  Once you know where they want you to navigate, select the search result link, then select the menu or link they direct you to navigate to.  Then you should be on the correct page to answer the final question.

I always check out the tasks. I've made almost $13 this month just from tasks.  The more you try the easier it gets.
