name brand shoes vs walmart?

who buys name brand shoes for their kids for school as opposed to walmart shoes?  myself, ive found that name brand lasts longer.  just wandering everyone's opinion..

I think most people buy name brand because they are leather and because of that they will last longer.  Walmart doesn't really stock too many leather shoes-I don't think.  I've never purchased shoes from Walmart for my child.

I buy shoes for my kids at WalMart.  I just bought my 3 year old son a pair of sandals from there yesterday.  They are a good brand, and last a long time for me.  I also buy my flip flops there for summer, that is all I wear.  I like them just fine and they are really cute.

I buy both. Depending on the sales that are going on for name brand shoes. Sometimes if i am just paying a couple bucks more for my daughter's shoes, I might as well buy the Nikes.

Shoes are overrated but if you can find a good deal on name-brand shoes, don't pass it up for Wal-mart shoes. Target shoes are better, but not by a lot.

I buy @ WalMart too.....as fast as kids grow u may as well save a little money on their shoes; play clothes too.  I have bought WalMart shoes for myself that have lasted a good while for me.

I can't ever find any shoes at Wal-Mart that I like.  I usually buy one or two pair of name brand shoes and I find a lot of good deals for shoes at yard sales and Goodwill.  Definetly saves.

As a kid growing up, my parents would buy my shoes at Walmart due to the length of time I would be wearing them.  As I got older and the shoes lasted longer (not growing as fast!), we would buy name brand shoes instead.  No reason really to buy expensive shoes to last a matter of months.

there are other options like Shoe Carnival or Famous footwear to get some great deals on school shoes and I've found some great bargins at Kohls.

i agree also on kohls, that's where i bought my girls shoes last year and they are still in great shape.

For myself for work I get the cheapest Walmart shoes I can find since they are going to get destroyed. 3 or 4 pairs of $10 shoes a year is cheaper. Other than work I wear nothing but the same pair of sandals I have had for about 5 years. They are indestructible.
