I laminate letters that are important to me and put them in a binder.

People value things differently.... I don't mind throwing out some letters because of space but if it's important, you might as well save the memories/letter

Do not throw history away. Some collectors will buy them and you could become rich...very rich!

For me it depends on what it is and how important it is to me.

I think I'm more of a throw awayer.  When I was younger I had a huge glass jar with folded letters from my friends.  I had shoe boxes full of love notes.  When I was about 18..getting ready to move out.  I pitched them all.  TO this day I don't keep much.

I saved things that my nieces sent me when they were young .. hand made cards, etc.

Now I just have to remember where they are ... LOL

I was cleaning a shed out and found letter my mom and dad sent to each other, when dad was stationed out of the states. Needless to say I arranged them by date and kepted every one of them.

It depends on the content. For example, I usually throw away Christmas cards and birthday cards, but not always. I still have letters from the 1960s from my father, who passed away in 1981.
