My daughter has never had an ear infection, but from what I know of them, I don't believe they are contagious.

No, they're not, but if they're being triggered by an  infection like a cold, bronchitis, virus, etc, that obviously is contagious.

This is kind of funny.  The straightforward answer would be no, but the whole thing is that something caused the ear infection.  Your daughters live the same kind of life so they likely have had the same lifestyle cause the ear infection.

This was basically what I was planning on saying. Each person is more susceptible to certain types of secondary infections. Children have shorter eustation tubes, and are more likely to get ear infections. Some people are more likely to get bronchitis or pneumonia.

I don't believe an "ear infection" can be contagious but, the "infection" part is probably where the contagion comes in.  After all, there is a bacterial infection that just so happened to show up in the first child as an ear infection.  Doesn't necessarily mean the second child will get and "ear" infection but she will ultimately get sick and need some sort of antibiotic too.

I don't believe an ear infection is contagious; however, children can be vulnerable when it comes to their respiratory systems because they're in the Kapha phase of their life.  Kapha is part of Ayurveda which is the science of self healing practiced in India.

Mega doses of Vitamin A, C and E will usually help if their mom doesn't want to take the medical approach.  Vitamin A fights and prevents infection while Vitamin C will flush the toxins.

P.S. The only way it would be contagious is if it's a viral infection where the 2nd child now has the same virus.
Have a great day!

They probably have similar behaviors being siters and live in the same environment so it would not be suprising that they both could come down with ear infections at the same time.

You can find me hanging out on Google :)

I don't believe it is contagious, but I don't know for sure.  I've had them before and no one in my family got them, but that's about the extent of my knowledge.

No I don't believe so. The ear infection could be triggered by a sinus infection also. My neighbor's grandson had an eye infection last week and found out that it was caused by a sinus infection.
