Do enjoy doing things for your spouse

My husband and I just love doing things for each other.  We have been married almost 24 years. In fact we feel more like newlyweds all the time and we have fun no matter what we do. I wish everyone the kind of happiness we have in our life.

I am not one to hoot my own horn, but my husband is too demanding and negative to do chores with.  I, once upon a time, enjoyed doing things with him, but the bossiness went over my head.  Things have to be done his way and I have my own way of doing things.  When it doesn't go his way, he is even worse.  I can't do that.  You have been married 24 years, and I am only coming up on our 2nd anniversary.  That is wonderful, but I can't do it because I have had enough of the criticism.

I appreciate my husband and like doing things for him and with him. He is very good at showing me appreciation and I try to do the same. Occasionally we fight but usually it is a misunderstanding and we both can have a hard time expressing ourselves fully and try to be more understanding when situations come up. Overall we get along really well and have lots of fun and meaningful ideas and conversations.

I love doing things for my wife and children. I am always working so much that it is rare that I get an opportunity to do so although that, in and of itself, is something that I do for them.  Up at four am to walk the dogs, do two hours of work, drive the kids to school, go to the daytime job for eight and a half hours, back home to make supper and then settle into job number two until eleven PM for five days a week. Saturdays/Sundays I am treated to seven hours of sleep, up at six am and work till eleven pm. If I have a slow down I like to get cards and mail them to the family.  Kind of sad that I have to use the USPS and texts to communicate to a family that is less than twenty feet away from me for sixty percent of my life.

Our first four years I wanted to split up but once those years past, everything was different.  If he said something to me I said, "Hon are you talking to me". Or if it was summer time I would pull out the boys water pistols and give him one and we would go at it and so we got wet but we sure had fun. When he gets mad at me I say, "Did I get your goat sweetie" then he tells me he will get me back but this cures the harsh way between us. One of our sons think we are silly but I am glad I know what triggers his madness and I know that I wouldn't want him to do it to me. I hope that helps you.

I am so lucky to have a wonderful husband.  Sure there are times we fight, and the fights can get loud, but we both know we love each other.  I get up early and make breakfast for him, which I love doing.  I make sure the house is clean, and supper is usually ready when he comes home from work.  He does so many things for me, and often surprises me with flowers, candy, or even jewelry for just because.  He is my best friend, we have been together for over 35 years and I thank God for him.  He's a wonderful father and a great husband!

I'm not married; however, I have a boyfriend.  I have a tendency to accommodate people and animals that I'm in a relationship with so yeah....I do a lot for the stray animals, that have adopted me, and my boyfriend.  Sometimes I get tired of accommodating others so I let them know that I need alone time.  When I'm alone...I'm good at accommodating myself...and that's very important.

This is just me saying -- Hopefully each person int he relationship are continually trying to do things for eachother to increase their happiness ahead of their own, which results in an extremely happy/fun/loving relationship.  Still searching for that someone here in Ohio

I love doing things to help others - for me, does not need to be a spouse - got rid of that problem, lol - now life is peaceful!  Yay!
