When did you first join Facebook

I think I joined in the beginning of 2010 when I was 22. At the time I just signed up because my cousin had just had twins and that's where she had posted the pictures. But I ended up staying because it's been a great way to keep in touch with everyone.

I'll let you know when (or if I ever) decide to join.  I have serious ethical issues with how Facebook chooses to abuse member's data.  Alerting people how they sell their information behind their back and only provide you an option to "opt out" after they've been "caught" is not an honest way to do business.  Since I work in a field that handles people's health information, I'm highly sensitive to how businesses handle their data, and Facebook fails miserable in my eyes.

Plus there's the fact I have zero time to maintain such a thing.  From what I've heard, most of the items on Facebook that I might have found useful has been taken away, and I haven't heard any good words about their current timeline format for posting information.  Seems every "improvement" is a step backwards (...much like Microsoft...oops...did I say that out loud?   ).

I think I joined during my High school days in 05 but did not used it much until 08.

I joined in May 2008. One of my professors kept requesting me but I had no clue what it was until two years later. At that time only three people I knew were using it. Now just about everyone I know has a fb page.

I joined facebook maybe 2 or 3 years ago I think I don't even know how old it is.

I knew I was not quick to join Facebook and that it was out before 2008.

Personally, for me I think being on Facebook while still a High School Student would have changed my High School experience ... if I girl liked you you could maybe see her write it on her wall, or you could see who traveled where, worked where, what people thought of sports, politics, etc all while you are still in close proximity with them via the High School experience.

I am 61 and joined a few years ago, but I have disabled my account numerous times.  I get tired of it, but it is the best way to keep up with my kids who live out of state.

Me too, I never did it for HS but at 25 I had to join to work on a project with my college friends.

I joined I think about 2 years ago. I only use it for information on bands I like. I don't use it for a social thing.

Guess I got on Facebook about 3 years ago. I am 43. Back when I was in college AOL and chat rooms were popular.

I joined FB in 2007 or 08 ... I've been able to reconnect with some long lost friends and I can keep tabs on what my graddaughters are doing.... they are 13, 16, & 20.  I am sure the younger ones would have a hard time remembering life BEFORE facebook!

I am addicted to Candy Crush and love playing other games, too.

I never joined Facebook but have been thinking about joining it. We'll see in a couple of months of so.

I joined in 2007 because there was news reports of the Virginia Tech shooter and his profile on facebook and the only way to access it was to have an account of your own. At that time, almost none of my friends were using it.

I haven't joined facebook yet. I've seen too much fighting and offensive remarks on it. It seems like a form of high school clicks to me. If used right it's probably a good way to keep in touch but not everyone uses it that way.
