yes, this country was founded on the belief that every person has the right  life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. no complete and true love between consenting adults is wrong. the more love in the world the better.

I just can't wrap my thoughts around the marriage bit. Not the way i was raised. God made man and woman for a reason. One is too have children. If these people planned things out they could have almost the same beniafits, but they want to throw it in our faces, Folks GOD is not happy with the way things are going right now. And i don't blame him.

I feel that they should be able to get married and have the same benefits.

I don't see why they shouldn't be able to get married and have the same rights.

You people disagreeing with gay rights are either religious bigots or just plain ignorant of nature. Homosexuality is seen within tons and tons of animal species including us. Heck, even gay animals protect the children of the groups they're in! And if you're against it for religious reasons, maybe you should read your holy texts to see how poorly written it is. You people cherry pick from the bible what you like and don't like. Just like your beliefs in general, it's silly reasoning. So wh--

WOAH WOAH WOAH! STOP THE PRESSES! A smart, compassionate, and open-minded religious person on this forum!? How is this possible???

Is everyone entitled to their own opinion? Yes.
Does your opinion have to be respected if it is bigoted and discriminates against people? No.
Most of the smart, articulate Christians understand that we progress as a society. They realize that we abandon poor choices such as slavery. They have values they hold dear but would never impede on others'.

Then SOME Christians aren't very smart... They say things like "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve"  These people have no ability to think for themselves. No ability to take what they learn about God and apply it to their lives. This group regurgitates, often incorrectly, talking points.  If you were on animal farm you'd be the ones that were taught to say "Four legs good, two legs bad"

Which one do you want to be?

No, I do not think they should have the same rights because they should not be able to get marry.  Listen people, God do not make mistakes, if he wanted two men or two women to be together he would have just make man and not woman.  Why do you think when the earth was destroyed before he saved two of everything one male and one female of everything so the earth can grow and mutiple.  This world could not if he only made man, he did not want man to be alone so he created Wo-man so the earth could mutiple, think about it. :peace:

WOW. Just WOW.  Thank you for the Chuckle.

I see nothing wrong with gay marriage. They should be able to live how they want to and marry who they want to. Although I do have to say, I am no fan of marriage.

No I DO NOT believe that two people of the same sex should be allowed to legally get married.  Between this issue and the greed for money and power, our country is doomed for God's judgment which will be swift and strong.  I'm praying for the Lord Jesus to come back soon!!
Have a wonderful day!

One of my brother-in-laws is gay and I've had gay friends ever since I was in highschool back in the 80's and I think they should have the right to marry who they want and have the same rights as a heterosexual (however) couple!

I am a Notary Public.  A lot of the work I do is in hospitals and hospices.  It breaks your heart to see how badly a couple that is gay is treated.  They can get no information and often are not even allowed in the room because they are not "FAMILY" when the person is dying.  They pay taxes on anything the "Real family" does not try to take even though they paid half or more for it.  I am always surprised at how fast some of the "Christian Families" swoop in to take away everything because they were not married, so they could not have any real rights (according to them).     With a 50% divorce rate, I don't think a lot of heterosexuals are really treating marriage as the sacred union they say it is.   I am all for gay marriages, if you are not gay...then don't marry a gay person.  My husband of 43 years and I have several friends that are gay that have been together as long as us, built there life together.  How fun and joyful these weddings are going to be!   My parents have been together 63 years and have a gay couple as friends since their teenage years, how could you deny one from being in the room when the end is emminent just because they are gay?

How do you feel about the gay marriage act? do you believe that gay couples should have the same benefits of heterosexual couples?

It doesn't bother me in the least that gay couples want to be married.  I don't want anyone telling me what to do in my bedroom, and I certainly don't think I should be privy to what a gay couple shares.  It's their business.  I realize that many religious people and sectors feel that homosexuality is wrong.  Truthfully, who's to say?  Wasn't God the one that put gays on the earth, just as he put the rest of us here?  I'm a sincere believer in individual rights.  As long as you aren't harming animals or children, I have no problems with you.

No problem with it. It's their freedom of choice.
