Jury asked for clarification on the manslaughter charge, which likely means they have already acquitted him of murder.

You were right. My local news website said,
Quote
SANFORD, Fla. (AP) -- Jury acquits George Zimmerman of second-degree murder in shooting of Trayvon Martin.

I've caught a little bit of news, here and there.  I understand that he was found not guilty.  I'm neutral about it all because I'm not personally involved with either person.
Have a great day!

Having watched this trial from the start, there was no way that a sane jury could bring a guilty verdict in this case, on any grounds/charge. The fact, and the ONLY fact that is truly relevant in this case is that Zimmerman discharged his firearm to stop the very obvious beating he was taking at the hands of Martin. Pure and simple, nothing else matters here, not his following Martin, or any other minutia the various TV folks have thrown out. Zimmerman was under assault and had every right to defend himself.

The prosecution threw up every possible concept to demonstrate that this was a killing of intent and ignored everything that was an obvious fact. They had NO case to begin with and it was sorely obvious throughout the trial.

I am not a sympathizer of Zimmerman in any way and I am truly sorry that Martin has lost his life. This entire ordeal is horrendous in practically every way. If there is any good to come from this it is that the jury did their job without regard to outside influences. That is about it.

foxnews.com is running coverage on the internet. Fox News (TV) carries the commentary now.

foxnews.com carried gavel to gavel coverage of the trial. Of course it is over now.

I think that it was the only verdict that could have been delievered based on the prosecutions total lack of evidence to support anything other than self defense.  Hope the thugs and criminal elements take note of that.

I haven't watched the trial it's self but I do see daily coverage on the news. it's a tough case because the only person who will ever know for sure if it was just self defense is Zimmerman. We can all just hope that justice will be served.

Well said....yes, it's tragic that Martin lost his life, but the jury made the right decision based on the evidence and the legal system we have. It's designed the way it is for a reason.

Agreed....and I'm grateful the jury did the right thing in taking their time and making the right decision.
