if you have a dollar store near you, or a grocery store. everytime i move i go to those places first and they are always willing to give them out.

Perhaps if you have friends that work in the warehouse or any company that receive a lot of shipments of merchandise, they would often need to discard those cardboard boxes. I used to work in the E-Commerce industry and we would receive daily shipments to stock up our inventory. We do end up getting rid of many boxes and bubbles at the end of the day.

My very favorite is the local office supply like Office Depot because they have the paper boxes that have the nice pop on lids so that would be my first choice - the liquor store and grocery store usually have boxes if you can get to them before they break them down.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good place to get free boxes for moving?

I was told when I moved and needed boxes that WalMart unpacks their stock at night and if you call they will save you some sturdy boxes that you can pick up. That's what I did and the boxes were just great.

I just pick up bankers boxes... party stores have lots of boxes often, if you call ahead, they may save them for you... most places smash them down these days, so a phone call is your best bet... I need to move soon as well and if I find a better source, I will post again... happy moving!

grocery stores are always good, if you have an aldi's around good place, also may call and ask if they will save you boxes.
