Gas at Sam's Club
« on: June 15, 2013, 05:32:16 pm »
Does anybody utilize their membership for wholesale stores (Sam's Club, etc) for filling their tanks. There have been times when I have gotten gas up to 20 cents off what other stations were charging but other times there is only a 5 cent or so discount.

I do not know about Sams's Club. But I heard Walmart plans to include gas stations too. Really?

My family does the Kroger thing as well and I think my dad uses it to fill up his tank which works out since he drives way more than anyone else in our household.  Never heard of Sam's club doing gas but anytime I can save money on gas I'm all for it.  I downloaded the gas app for my smartphone so I didn't have to drive around to figure out what was the cheapest price.

I love using my Kroger plus for gas! Usually I only accumulate enough for 20 maybe 30 cents a month off gas. But hey its better than nothing. You get the most points for prescriptions! I get a few things filled there every month and get over 100 points! So for anyone who uses Kroger points for gas I recommend using their pharmacy for more points.

I am not a member of that club, but I utilize the Costco gas station, they are the cheapest in my area for gas...

My father has a Sam club membership and we use it to fill up our cars.... I find it surprising that it's not the full compared to the Costco gas pump (which has like lines... also their are right next to each other)... I guess Costco gas is cheaper

My closest Sam's Club doesn't have a gas station but, I have heard that they discount their gas, if they have gas pumps.

The only bad thing about buying gas at Sam's Club is that you have to use a credit card. I don't like that. I prefer to pay cash, so I don't buy gas there.

I use Kroger for gas, get .05 cents off and can pay with cash or credit card.

I utilize Costco for my gas, it is usually 10-15 cents cheaper. When we get 100 points on or stop and shop card we get 10 cents off a gallon on gas at shell. My wife had 1000 points and she got $1 a gallon off, that was pretty cool.

I often buy gas at the local Sams. When the deal isn't as good as usual, I often buy at my local grocery store using gas rewards. I got 20 cents off per gallon because I bought my groceries there.

Yes, I routinely use Sam's club. It is always cheaper where I live. I do participate in a grocery rewards program that gives cents off gallon, but i don't grocery shop enough to bring the gas cost down to what sams charges.

We do use it for Costco.  They give us 1% cash back so I think we do save it a lot too.
