I love to text.  me and my friends text all the time..  my husband hates it.  our son tries to text him and he seens back the prerecorded quotes(and they never make any sense)  he has told him though, if he wants to talk to him he had better call, not text.   i think its fun..  thats how me and my friends keep in contact thru the summer(we work in a school cafeteria, so we are out the whole summer.)

What annoys me is when I'm out in public and people are annoyingly yapping on their phones no matter what is going on around them. It's gotten so bad with cellphones to the point that many businesses are posting signs such as, "Please do not use cellphone while ordering". Texters are just as bad, looking and typing on their cellphones instead of watching what they are doing.

I've even known somebody to total out a beautiful mustang because he couldn't get off the keys.

When it comes to talking on the phone, I hate it. I don't like to talk on my phone. I prefer texting, but will never do it unless I'm in a single place... such as at my desk at work, or in school. If I'm driving, I won't even look at a message. If I'm shopping, I'll glance at it to see if it's "important".. and if it is, then I'll find a place to park my cart and respond real quick.

I hardly ever actually TALK on my phone. I probably send/receive over 4000 texts a month. I really prefer texting.

I love to text mesage. I text message every chance I get. The best part about it if you have umlimited you don't have to worry about going over your minutes and you can text until you feel your thumbs are about to fall off... :)

i am practically attached to my cell phone, primarily for searching the web, checking my facebook, and sending and reading emails, but i do text quite often, at least 10 times a day. now while i have no opinion about whether its "childish" or "a waste of time" i do think that texting is, in its own way, a moderately inefficient way of communicating. don't get me wrong, its great for sending a quick note, like telling your husband not to forget to pick up diapers on his way home, and it does come in handy if you're in a place/situation where you can't talk on the phone (which opens a whole new discusion of whether "not being allowed to talk on the phone" also includes texting, but i digress) but you have to admit that there's occasions where to takes longer to type the text than it would've taken you to actually speak it

and i absolutely DESPISE chain messages and massively forwarded texts. most of the time the message has been forwarded so much that there is a long string of FWD:FWD:FWD: and then i only get to read like half the actual text. that is so annoying!

I love texting! I used to hate it but I am catching on. I try not to be rude about it though.

It's a good idea but then you think what happens if the place you're at doesn't have a good signal or the messages fail to go through no matter what! Or people from the other side (the operators of 911) don't know the text lingo?

Texting is a great way to keep in touch!  It's so fast and convenient.  If I don't want to "talk" to someone for hours, but I need a simple answer fast, it's sooo easy to text.  PLUS-my boss is a doctor.  It's hard for him to talk on the phone when he wants to get something through to us at the office.  It's the perfect way for us to have a brief conversation without interrupting his day seeing patients.
