I like both. I love a big store when i want to run in and get a lot of items of all kinds because I can get them all in one place. But i also like a small homey store where they usually know you and you feel a connection.

I would rather go to a small mom and pop store better deals.

There's so a delicate balance for me when deciding which. I want to support mom and pop shops, but the price can't be too inflated compared to the chain stores. They also have to show me excellent customer service, as that's why I would want to support them in the first place. Unfortunately where I live some of these mom and pops think they can get away with indifferent attitudes, its all about community.

i like the smaller stores but sadly most are disappearing..the bigger are all out for money instead of customer service..it's like they think if you want us to smile and speak to you, that cost extra.

I don't have a preference but sometimes you can find good deals at either type of store.

You can find me hanging out on Google :)

I feel like the big stores sometimes have no soul.  The locally owned stores often try to be friendly with you, especially if you go to them often.  The only problem I find with trying to shop at the locally owned stores is that their prices are often much more expensive than the big stores.  I don't buy everything local but I do try to do some of shopping locally each month.  Gotta keep the local economy going!

For us it's about prices and gas mileage. If something is at a good price (which happens at a lot of larger stores) then for us it's better to be purchased there. However if the savings overall aren't worth the drive (ie as one member said saving 6 cents or so with the $4 gas) then we will shop closer to us and might go to a smaller store. And there are some things you can get online and delivered to you for a good price too so that has helped as well.

I usually shop the big stores for all my groceries, but i love going into our little mom and pop store for oddball items they may have. They don't carry groceries But you can sure pick up some good stories.

It depends on the price. I shop online most of the time.

Depending on the neighborhood and area that a person lives in mama and pop stores are the best, because you are showing support and they are most likely support the neighborhood.  In today's society larger stores are moving in and taking that advantage, because they are able to offer the consumer more. :fish: :-

Depends on the store and what  and what I am buying.  I like to support the local merchants.
BUT sometimes the larger stores are easier.  Like in the Mall where you can park and go to several stores.
