Well for the last six years I have come to their house five days a week for nine hours a day to take care of my mom.  Finally, I decided I needed a life that wasn't consumed with them and the longer I didn't have a regular job, the harder it would be for me to get one when I finally needed to.  Friday is my last day taking care of her.  I feel so bad, but it was just more than I could keep doing.  My dad insists he is going to do it all.  He is 80 and she is totally bedridden.  He has had two major surgeries so far this year along.  They need assisted living or to put her in a nursing home, but he won't do it.  Neither of them can drive and he falls at least once a week.  I am hoping my move will make them take a look at things and decide a change is needed.  I envy my sister who lives far away.

Both of my parents have passed away!  There is not a day that goes by that I wouldnt love to call and talk to either one of them!  On the other hand by husband has both parents living (He isn't close to either one of them) and he hardly ever talks to them.  I am usually the one that suggests he call them!

i keep up with my parents ever and i call them all most ever day but i do see them on sundays for church or holidays and stuff like that all so

my mom and i talk atleast 4 times a week. and we see one another when time permits.

My folks are both still alive but live a couple hours away from me. We talk on the phone at least once a week and try to visit every couple months.

I try to contact my mother at least once a week but it has turned into every 2-3 weeks. My mother calls me at least every 2 weeks.

i call my mom and check in on her and daddy at least once a week--and my son loves to go down there on the farm so he can let me know if something comes up-

My mother has stopped calling and just shows up.  This is very frustrating as it's never convenient for me to just stop and drop everything to visit.  When I call her it's out of this feeling that it's been so long since I've talked to her I have to call her.  Honestly I've never enjoyed chatting with my mother.  Sadly I would rather avoid her..when I do talk to her she just brings me down.

I call home every Sunday.  Mom and Dad usually both get on the phone and we all talk.

Mom calls me occasionally, but mostly we know we will talk on our Sunday call.
