High school proms
« on: June 08, 2013, 03:03:14 am »
I have been out of high school for a number of years, but i can't help
But to remember about my prom,  when I go to the malls these days
And I see the young ladies purchasing their beautiful prom dresses.

Anyone attending their prom this month?

High School Prom was a LONG time ago for me.

I went to 3.  Each was with my husband :)

Back then we didn't go shopping for "beautiful gowns"......
I wore a borrowed dress the first year.

2nd year I wore the bridesmaid dress I wore to my sister's wedding.

3rd year I wore the bridesmaid dress I wore to my brother's wedding.

NOW, years later, my husband and I have gone to 2 Adult proms.  We have had a blast.  Live music and all.

P.S.  My dresses for these Adult Proms are Beautiful.......I have worn my daughter's prom dress.

I didn't attend my high school prom....I used to care, but things have changed.  I didn't know that had adult proms.  That sounds interesting.

I love the dresses they have these days. I went to my junior and senior prom but i really didnt like the school i attended (private religious school full of wealthy kids) so it wasnt much fun. I was bullied and when i left to dance and came back someone had destroyed my corsage.

I bought a dress from the second hand store for my junior prom. it was beautiful but not in style so i felt ugly at the time and wish i had the dress today... i could have worn it to so many functions as an adult!

I bought my second dress with money i earned cutting grass and was determined to have a nice, in-style dress that i wouldnt get made fun of in. the dress didnt make a difference though!

I have two nieces that had proms and they were gorgeous.  One of my nieces actually brought back the sixties look with a beautiful form fitting mermaid type of dress and her hair had the old style to it that fitted so well with the dress, she was drop dead gorgeous.  My other niece had the long, flowing, princess type of dress, she was also classy, elegant, and beautiful.
