Failure to Intern
« on: June 03, 2013, 05:59:26 pm »

xD So I really thought my application was great, and that I would be guaranteed a spot.

But turns out, I am an alternative and as of now, absolutely have no spot.

Oh well.

Their loss because I know students who got it that really aren't as well-rounded as
they are expected to be.

I also believe in this situation that is the reason why I didn't get it.

Their knowledge of me being able to actually find a real job.

Problem is, they'll hire anyone else with experience before they stop to consider me
because I have no such experience.

Same thing happen to my application when your against a person with experience there goes your chances. They don't even consider checking if your really 120% up for the job.

The reality of life is experience.  I am sorry you did not get the job.

Sorry you did not get the job.  At least you tried.  But how do they expect you to get experience when they cut you off the minute you put your foot in the door?  I was like that until I was given a chance based on my volunteer experience when my daughter (now 27) was in Head Start.  I held that job for 12 years 8 months.  I am looking forward to rejoining the workforce after being out of it since 2003.

Look at this way, it wasn't the job for you.  Keep your chin up and keep beating the bushes.  The perfect job for you is out there waiting for you.  Coming from experience, you may go through a few jobs before you actually find the perfect one!  Best wishes to you on your employment search.
Have a wonderful day!

I know it is very upsetting and frustrating.  Just keep thinking, it's their loss!  You will find the perfect job, don't give up, it just might be the very next one!  Good luck, you'll do fine!

Thank you.

yeah i feel that way too. That's how most of the jobs in my area are.

And some of the more typical teenage jobs are not filled with adults who have more experience too.

It's depressing xD

Keep your head up.  You'll find something else and it will probably be better!
