what would you do in this situation?
« on: June 01, 2013, 12:28:24 am »
what would you do in this situation? there is a Ghanaian lady wanting to marry me, however she doesn't communicate with me regularly. one day, I was extremely angry about her not communicating with me. I believe that if she wants to marry me, she needs to give me her love and communication without fail.

Could be some type of scam.  However, if you love this lady, give her time and maybe things will change where she starts communicating with you.

Is this a long distance Internet relationship? I have an acquaintance that got into one of these with a Nigerian gal and it cost him over $30,000 before he realized she never was going to marry him, she just wanted to milk him for as much money as possible.

well, he picked the wrong lady. there are decent Ghanaian and Naija ladies out there. stop believing the BS that people say about Africa. if you believe that they are scammers, then you are ignorant. Americans can scam you just as well.

I agree with OldBuddy here, ESPECIALLY if it's an internet relationship.  If he's never met her, BUYER BEWARE!!!

If you have an Internet relationship and you haven't met in person in a relatively short period of time, chances are it will never take off.  No matter how well the two of you seem to get on online, things are different when you meet face to face.  People are often not the way they represent themselves.  Also, you can't really tell if you have chemistry until you meet in person.  Finally, the two of seem to be having issues already and very different ideas about what this relationship should be about.

As for the rest, it could be a scam and then again it might not be.  On the other hand, if you have never met in person, you have no idea whether she's really Ghanaian or really a woman even.

"Eventually" could be a very long time.  From what I've read in your posts, you said you've spoken to her.  OldBuddy asked a really great question:  "Have you given her any money?"  If you've been sending this woman money and she doesn't even communicate with you the way you like or need, what makes you think she'll change that?  Go in to this thing with your eyes wide open.  There's no reason to send anyone money or gifts until you really know who you're dealing with.  Once you "eventually" meet her - in person - you'll be more able to judge whether this is even a relationship YOU want.  She may want to marry you, but do YOU want to marry HER?  Like others have said in their posts, she may not be anything she says she is.  You won't know that until you meet her with your own eyes and get to know her.

This reminds me of that show catfish. I'd say go and met her. If she refuses to met you than she's not real. If you met her, ask a lot of questions and take your time to get to know her before marrying.

Looks like you ae geting set up for some heart break. If you have not met her and only talked a few times, she is looking to hook a fish. Find someone in the USA there a lot of nice women and girls here and yes a few crooks too. But you could at least have her investagated like i did my hubby before i would date him. And we have been married for 20 years.

Now that's a new approach, but after hearing what happens lately not a bad one. I have lots of friends that wish they would have thought of that. Just not sure it guarantees a happy marriage though, people change.
