how do i catch a theif

some one keeps stealing my washington post every sunday how can i catch them other then being there at 5 am when it gets delivered

Can you set up a camera or something like that? You could also pay a local kid a few bucks and they would probably hang out and watch who is stealing your paper. Do you know if it is even being delivered? Maybe it is the paper carrier not delivering it.

More than likely it not even being delivered have you asked the paper company about.

Talk to the delivery person and have them to deliver old papers for a couple of weeks since you don't get them anyway. Then they will know that they are being watched and hopefully stop stilling.

Do you have any extreme couponers in your area? That might be why they are stealing them, if there are coupons in them!!!! LOL!!!

Put out an old one with a letter in it and let them know your watching. Probably would be awkward to actually catch them anyhow so best to just somehow let them  know you're watching and get them to stop.

i have pretty good idea who is doing it they deny it but it points to them cant set a camera we are right on side of main highway someone would steal that,called the washington post they said they are going to talk to carrier but cant let me know if they delivered it or not,which is bs im out of 5 so far and i had to pay for them,they should reimberse me if their carrier is not doing their job shouldnt they

Ask you delivery person to knock on your door when they drop it off.  It might wake you up to get the paper or catch the person that is stealing the paper.  If nothing else than ask them to deliver it for a later time to throw the person that is stealing it.

I would just get up before the paper is delivered and watch for who is doing it. Then as they are bent over picking it up, have a big strong water gun and blast them with water. Your paper may get wet and so will they. Both dry. Or be where you can take a picture of them doing it and tell them it will be posted at the post office. I know i have bent sense of humor, But what the heck you should have some fun at their expense. Either way they won't be stealing it again. But also the paperboy may be at fault. Good luck.

I don't know where you live, but some newspapers I have heard of will set up a stake-out or arrange an alternate form of delivery if this is a persistant problem.

You have a dilemma... let us know if you used any of the suggestions, I know I would not be a happy camper and I would probably wait at the front door and when the person came up, I would say, "Now that I know who you are I'll report you to the police and the newspaper" and if you're nice you can say, "You can have my paper AFTER I'm finished with it... it's recycling too...

well i approaced person made mention of involving cops my paper has been there every sunday since
we live aout 500 yards from newspaper ox cant see it for trees,and it on main road and the company wouldnt even tell me who my delivery person is or what time they delivered
