Maybe you should go to him and request that he let you know in advance before he cuts the grass so you can find something else to do to utilize that time.  My husband insists on me washing clothes and then rushes me to take them in because he has an electric lawnmower.  I cooked breakfast 2 weeks ago, and he was on his toy.  He told me to call him on his cellphone when breakfast is ready, but he can't hear a darned thing when he is on that lawnmower.  I finally just put it in the microwave.   :angry7: :angry7: :angry7: :BangHead:

I agree with the posters above who have said open communication is always your best bet.  Just talk about when he is going to cut it.  Or, is there a reason why you or your husband can't be the one to cut it?  Or is there a hidden message behind him not being happy with who his son married for some reason, maybe?  Just sit down and talk. The whole problem may be settled as easily as you opening up with something like "Oh, that grass cutting is a hot job.  Would you like a cold Coke?  And, oh, by the way, can we talk?"  You never know, but the effort is worth it.

yes, ask him when he going to cut the grass, he will probably want to know why you are asking, tell him politely that you don't want to remove grass from cleaned clothes again, and you would like to know so you can remove your pool as well.

It is best to approach and discuss it with him.  Do no hold your feelings in or it will eat at you.

Yeah just be friendly about it! No need to be frightened of asking for a simple request-- especially since they're your Landlord. Most people are understanding of such simple things.

I agree with the above posting, just talk to your landlord.  Be kind and don't yell, he might not even realize what he was doing.  I'm sure you two can work it out.

I personally think that he is "yanking your chain" and it is working... If you don't want a confrontation wait until he's finished and then do what you want to do...

Your landlord being your step-father-in-law complicates things.  If you're rent includes the yard then it's your right to cut your own grass whether you do it his way or not.  If he has to be the one to cut it he needs to schedule that chore with you.  Here in NM landlords are supposed to give 24 hours written notice of coming to the rental property.  They usually ignore this unfortunately.  Mine certainly does.  How about if you, or your husband cut the grass the day before laundry/pool day, then he won't have anything to cut.  Perhaps you could put the pool on a tarp that's a little bigger so he won't have grass to cut next to the pool.  Could your husband ask his mom to talk with him?  Good luck.

Simply   confront   him  slowly  and  first.  If  the  does not work,  get  a little  more  bullheaded. Good  luck

I`m pretty fortunate in my landlord/tenent relationship, I`ve been friends with mine for over 35 years and I always make sure he`s not attempting work on his many properties that would be dangerous for him at the age of 76, and he always appreciates it
