On my recent trip a couple months ago, I got to meet a man named Nick Maley and his wife.  They own a museum called "That Yoda Guy".  Turns out, Nick was one of the lead artists for Lucasfilm, creating iconic creatures like Yoda, Tuscan raiders, Greedo and hundreds of other characters from the Star Wars franchise, as well as others (like Highlander, The Crow, etc...)

When talking to him, he said he created the museum and his foundation specifically to encourage young people to follow their dreams despite what other people around them said.  The reason why was when he was a young man, all his teachers, professors, everyone around him told him he was a terrible artist and would never make it in the business.  He chose to ignore it and look at what he did...not an artist, yeah...right!  He sure had the last laugh.

So take that as inspiration to follow whatever your passion is!

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to paint.

I don't remember all the objections to it-but there were enough that I stopped trying.
For almost 40 years.

I started painting at 52 and have sold some of my work.
It still surprises me when someone likes my paintings.   :)

Don't give up your dreams.
They're what makes life bearable.
That sounds awesome! This makes me want to indulge in my passion of singing, which I have not done in a long time.

No I never been told my dreams are stupid cuz I usually don't remember them. If i do tell my close friends about it, they don't think it's stupid...maybe strange or weird.

I agree. Say <censored> off and die. If they do nothing but drag you down, you don't need them in your life.
I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"

The op was talking about dreams and goals, not the sleeping type dreams.
For example:

Dream / goal = It is my dream to work on-line from home.
Sleep dream = I had a dream where I was forced to sit naked at Walmart and greet people.
I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"
