Health care too much even with insurance
« on: May 25, 2013, 09:59:07 pm »
I have very good insurance i believe, but recently went to hospital because pain was unbearable and could not stop throwing up even when there was nothing in my system to throw up i was in hospital not more then two hours...2-3 more in waiting room but only with medical attention for about 2 hours and few weeks later a bill for $3,400 i just think this is outrageous and unfair when their are people without insurance and they cant pay bills so after months and months of not paying they no longer have to pay i just think this health care is getting screwed up

It is just sickening that someone is making a profit on the industry of health. Everyone should have the right to live healthy and have access to healthcare. When health insurance premiums are soo much money already and you still have to pay massive amounts of money for your treatments and medication. Where is all the money going?

Has your claim been filed with the insurance company yet?

Obamacare will be making all of this much worse in the very near future.  As a matter of fact, it's happening now.  There are MANY physicians who will no longer accept ANY KIND OF INSURANCE and are going to a CASH ONLY option.  I've got a friend who is a physician who has done just that.  He wants to keep his business but doesn't want to put up with the crazy questioning which will be required (DO YOU OWN A GUN?).  He doesn't want to report anything to the government because he believes it is a strict PHYSICIAN/PATIENT relationship and that government should stay the heck out of people's business and health care.  Hospitals are for-profit businesses and having to go to an ER for care is always costly.  I went to the ER a few years back for a fractured foot.  All they did was take an x-ray, confirm it was fractured, put me in a TEMPORARY cast, then told me I had to see a bone specialist and handed me a card.  The bill for that worthless trip was OVER $5,000.
