Actually reverse racism is embedded in the laws currently. Companies are not allowed to hire employees based on their qualifications, but they have to meet quotas and hire based on race and color. Government works the same way.
Real racism occurs in schools. Instead of making sure that all students, no matter what their race, receive a good education, it is automatically assumed that blacks won't score as high on tests as whites, so the tests are adjusted to compensate. If you have a white kid and a black kid (or hispanic, or whatever) in the same class, there is no reason why the black kid doesn't have just as good a chance at passing the test as the white kid. Are they trying to imply that skin color somehow affects the brain or something? I think that is very insulting, and racist.

I have to agree with southernhorizons.  Today, everything is skewed toward making it "easier" for those who are truly "unqualified" for a job.  Schools are pushing "special programs" for non-whites.  We need to get back to a curriculum that teaches all the basics - History, Math, Science, English.  If your child, no matter what color they may be, is not interested in "learning," they don't need to be in school.  As far as "crimes" are concerned, the Attorney General REFUSES to prosecute those who are black on the basis of racism.  The U.S. needs to get away from the false premise of "race."  The more they impress this kind of thinking, the more racism thrives.  We need to stop looking at the color of people's skin, and begin looking at their qualifications - as a human being, and as a potential employee.

Sorry but I don't believe in "reverse racism" racism is racism. Otherwise good response. Thanks

This is a loaded question.  Racism is still alive and well in some cultures.  I believe that we should love everybody.  And remember, when you take the coating off, we look the same.  Pigmentation is what makes color. :peace: :peace: :peace:

I have never considered my self as a racist until recently. Those that commit muder and mayham aginst us I do not like and do not wish them well.Hear lately as a white person i am finding that the latino and blacks have a lot of hate toward white people and yet they are given so many breaks. That we do not enjoy why is that . I know there a lot of every ethic group out there that are doing vell well and they deserve it. Becauswe they have worked their tails off. But it seems like more of the hate comes from those that are on handouts, like we owe them. Let them get out and work and get some pride back.

Racism is embedded in people.  Sometimes, the way people interpret the law perpetuates racism.  On the other hand, some laws do have racism embedded into them.  Sorry, that's the way bounces in the real world of laws, government, and politics.

racism is alive and well in all cultures. sadly to many people are to stupid to wake up and realise their own ignorqance. we all share common ancestory, hate black people? guess what we all come from africa, dislike hispanics? they are caucasians too. so are most people from the middle east. speaking of the middle east we have them to thank for most of our earliest  scienific  discoveries. we can all thank asians for the devolopment of art and music as more than cave paintings and banging a stick on a rock.

I think racism is still embedded in people, and since people make and interpret the law, racism is still present in the law.

Until we get smart enough to realize that no one gets to choose the color of the skin they're born in, there is racism.  :(

I really dislike laws that have explicit racism in them. For example, I dislike all of the so called "hate crime" laws... If a person is murdered, the severity of the punishment should not rely on whether the perpetrator held some stereotypic hatred towards their victim; the more serious of the crime is that a person was killed, so the punishment should be attributed to that crime. I can see it being used to define the intent of the killer, whether they should be charged with 1st degree murder or just a felony manslaughter charge. But other than that, it shouldn't matter when assigning punishment. We don't give bank robbers extra punishment if they hold the belief that the banking system is corrupt, so why should a killer be punished extra for their misguided beliefs, whatever they may be.

thank u southerhorizons! y should a black or a mexican or a white even get any money to go to school cus of their race if we are all equal... i hate minorities getting things for free it makes no sense this isnt slave days if u wanted be treated equal then stop getting stuff we dont... also y should nfl teams have to interview a black coach or whatever? its so dumb... if i dont want to hire somebody why should i waste my time... i bet if obama was white he would of never been president or got all the support he has... in a 100 years hell probably just be rmeembered as the black president... and i hate how if somone makes one little racist joke everyone blows it out of porportion... same as gay jokes...

you forgot to start out your post with," look i'm not racist, but...." as a , white southerner i completely understand why we still need affirmative action and hate crime laws, because i know given half a chance the lower specimens of my race would jump at taking things back to the 30's 40' 50's, tust me some of them are my family members.
