Not your own

If on Mother's day, you give a gift to a mother that isn't your own, do you also on Valentine's day, give a gift to someone in a relationship with someone other than you?

Both my mother and grandmother are dead.  My grandmother died 23 years ago and my mother passed 17 years ago.  I have my memories of them, and they are precious. :sad1:  :sad1:

My mom always gives both me and my little boy a little gift on Valentine's Day.  It is just about an appreciation of love, not romantic relationships.

I haven't done this but I think it is a great idea since my mom is gone.  I will make that a goal for next year. Shouldn't be too hard since there are so many lonely people out there,

Hmm depends on the relationship that a person may have with that person whom is in a another relationship. A friend of that person not a problem.

My husband mother passed away before i even met him. Since then we have had a little girl and he will not celebrate mothers day because his mother is gone. It pisses me off every year. My child is only 5. even if all he did was help her to get me something or make something would be fine to me.

I think it really depends on the person. If you like giving gifts there is no reason why you cant do this.

I usually give something (like roses or a card) to close relatives that are moms on Mother's Day and for Valentine's Day. Also I also give something to my hubby on Valentine's Day.

It would depend on what your relationship is. As long as the person who's involved with someone else...they don't both get upset or offended by it.
