I am happy for him.  Hope he saves most of it and puts the rest to good use.  I would like to win some.  I am 72 years old and still have to work and each day it gets harder.  I was so tired yesterday before I left work I almost cried.  I am going to buy a lottery ticket today for the drawing tonight and pray I win some so I don't have to go back to work tomorrow.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

A friend of mine won $1,000,000 in the Powerball drawing last Saturday!  My husband had 4 numbers and won $100.  If he would have had an 8 instead of a 6, he would have won $1,000,000, also.  I'm happy for Timmy!  He has worked hard all of his life to take care of his family.  Now he can enjoy a few big boy toys of his own!

do you think that he will share his winnings with you at all?  i never play the powerball

Congrats to him.  My only advice would be to save it for the first year and pay off all the taxes.  Then start enjoying the winnings.  That way he'll have a better chance of not over spending (if he decides to make any sizable purchases).

That's awesome! After taxes, that's probably just about the amount I'd need to start living cushy. Debt house, new car, business start up.

A million dollars is great, but the average person won't be "set for life" with winnings like that, especially considering the huge tax takeaway (almost HALF!). Million dollar winners should not quit their day jobs, because even if they spend it wisely, it will be gone in about 10 years.

Your husband's luck kinda sounds like mine.  I can't tell you how many times I'll buy a raffle ticket or something and the winning ticket will me one off of my number.  At least you won something for your numbers though.

Congratulations to your friend! That is so great to hear! So many people dream of winning the lottery and never do. Hopefully he will be able to invest the money where he will be able to live comfortably for years. I know that taxes can take a large a portion so hopefully he can invest some of what he has for the future. Good luck to him!
