« on: May 13, 2013, 01:37:31 pm »
if you knew someone who was abused and raped but they were too afraid to report it would you help them to report it i would because i know how that feels i was raped over and over by my step father for 8 years until i had to go to the er and they did a pelvic exam on me and found out that i was raped repeatly now i try to help people who have been threw the same thing i think who ever it is a women or a man they should punish to the full extent of the law i also beleive that what goes around comes back to you or it should they should castrate the person i really am not a viloent person but what these people do is totally wrong and most of them get away with it or get a slap on the wrist like my step father did he got 5 years probation and 5 years of counseling  plus then turned around and did it to my sister also

As a social worker and teacher, I am mandated to report any type of abuse and can be held legally liable if I don't report it. Yes, you should report it. As in my home state of Arizona, many states have unlimited statutory limits on certain types of abuse, limits on others. It should be reported immediately. You can report it, anonymously, but get it reported, today! Stop reading this and pick-up the phone......Call today.....  I'll wait.....
I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"

I think it should be reported and if they need help to get it done, then by all means help them out

Yes I would help that person in reporting it. Abuse of any kind is extremely harmful and rape is horrendous! These actions leave a permanent invisible scar (sometimes visible too) on the victims and change the course of their lives forever. Abusers (and rapists) should be cattle-branded on their faces so that everybody can see what they are!

Would definitely help right away and get the person who is abusing the person as far away from them as possible. There's no positives to letting the problem go, even if the abused person doesn't want help.

I'm so sorry you went through that.  It's hard to imagine healing from such a thing.  I send you some reiki with this post.   :angel11:  :peace:

Your story is a perfect illustration of why we should support someone who's been through any kind of abuse so they can report it and get the help they need.  The offenders often go on to abuse new victims.  Tougher laws would be good, but I don't think we need to get drastic.  I understand that child abusers don't fair well in prison and get a taste of their own medicine.  That seems fair to me.  They need help too, but if they don't want it perhaps they should stay out of circulation.

I would and DID report someone. He got 15 years  for raping a minor. Her parents should have gotten jail time as well but they didn't.

I'm so sorry you went through all of what happened to you and I agree that your rapist got a slap on the wrist for a very violet crime. You are a strong person to want to help others and to be able to speak about what happened to you. Be very proud of yourself for not letting him make you a victim. If you know someone else that has gone through the same thing I would help them at least get some counseling even if they don't feel able to go to the police they at least need help for themselves.

Yes I would help someone that was raped. I think that is the most horrible thing a women would have to deal with. If I ever found that out with my daughter and the evil ex's new boyfriend I know I would go nuts. I think raped should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Even the death penalty.

I'm so sorry that that happened to you and I would report ANY kind of abuse. These types of criminals should get longer and harder penalties
