Three Kidnapped Women Found Alive in Cleveland

I heard on the news this morning that three women who were kidnapped and thought dead, as they have been missing for 10 years or more, have been found alive in Cleveland.  First of all, I cannot fathom that men actually held women in slavery like that.  Those women were held against their will as though they were possessions.   My aunt lives in Cleveland, and to hear that went through my mind like a bad dream.  I remember the DeJesus woman disappearing; she was told about on America's Most Wanted.  I remember that I went to school with a woman who told me the last time she saw her daughter, she was on her way to school and she was waving to her.  The next thing she knew, it was like the earth opened up and swallowed her.  These women have a lot to be thankful for.  I just cannot believe that women were held in bondage like that and it shows you the multitude of madness that men have gone to. 

If it weren't for Amanda Berry, they would have still been in bondage.  And the next door neighbor who kicked open the door to free those women.  I would like to hear your take on this miscarriage of justice.

I think Charles Ramsey is an amazing hero. Just his words, "I thought it was some type of domestic violence."  How many people who thought that would walk away and close the door. Instead he runs across the yard and starts to kick in a door.

my heart aches for what these women have had to go through and what about their families--i am so happy they have their freedom back after all these years--i hope the men involved get what is due them!!  this is just so hard to understand how someone can do this to someone else--unthinkable

it's such a miracle to have them be alive and still healthy. although they might not be emotionally healthy or stable..

I think it's awesome that these three women have been freed....I pray that they get support to help them integrate into "normal" life again. As for those men.....well, I hope they get jail time and become Big Bubba's Bitches!

  Its a sad story with a surprise ending for all those touched by this craziness.  Know the journey to healing and discovering who they are as individuals begins. my prayers are with them and their family.

This is really an amazing story I can't wait to get the details on the whole thing, but right now I think the families are going to need some time to adjust. One of the women even had a child while she was there it seems. Kudos to the guy who helped them escape.

What a story and how di it happen for 10 years.they must of been tied up and tortured.simular to the story here in ca  that girl was a prisoner for 18years. Those 3 men look so creepy .Love the man who helped them but the 911 operator was not helpful at all .she asked what was he wearing who cares about that .

Thank God! Yes this story will get interesting as more findings come in. I wonder what the neighbors saw, knew, did not do etc. It seems so unreal, but they are alive.

I wanted to get more on the story, so I went on YouTube.  While most of us are happy that it ended this way, I am saddened to hear from others.  People believe that their families didn't care.  One person went so far as to call Charles Ramsey ghetto.  There is an old saying, "Unless you have walked a mile in a person's shoes, you have no idea what unimaginable problems exist".  People wouldn't be saying things like these unless they have no compassion.  I am glad, for one, that there was a happy ending to this tragedy.  For the ones who think it is something wrong with this, there is something wrong -- with you.  Amanda's mother died, not knowing what happened to her child.  I believe the man is a hero; he stepped up to the plate and did the right thing:  he helped those kidnapped women.  So many of them would have walked away, saying it was none of their business.   Yet, if the people who see something wrong with this, they wouldn't be saying anything if their loved ones vanished like that.  I had to write this, because I am a human being, and regardless of the color of our skins, I have compassion for anyone in the same situation.

That story is so awful and disturbing. I dont even want to think about what those women had to live through and for so long. There are just no words for that kind of horror.

I guess there's a big lesson in never giving up when someone is missing because there is hope of a happy ending.  It's a story that could end up being made into a movie and/or having the potential of being a best selling book.

Sounds like an answer to some prayers for many people.
