I gamble all the time. But I learned early on don't gamble anymore than your willing to loose.  So I always set a limit before I go and if by some reason I reach that limit it's time to go home.  And no I never bet on credit that is just bad all the way around.

Definitely set a limit. This is not a kid's game. A few people are just plain lucky, but the majority of us need to set a limit or else we'll get ourselves in trouble. I've read stories of people being ruined by gambling, because they couldn't control themselves.

I used to live in Vegas, so spent a lot of times at the casinos.  However, I usually just spent small money to get free drinks and to get to know the good looking dealers!

I went twice years ago. The first time I won 400 bucks. The second time I lost a 100 but I did win 2 free meals so maybe I didn't really lose anything that time either. Either way the whole thing is not my cup of tea. :P

I've been known to gamble.  Haven't really done any recently, as I'm living on a fixed income and don't have a lot left at the end of the month.  I was in Las Vegas last week and threw $15 into the slot machines, lost it all but had some fun (and some free drinks).  It's really easy to get caught up in the gambling.  You might want to watch yourself the next time you've got the chance to gamble.  $200 for your first time seems like a lot to me, unless you can afford to lose all that money at once.

I used to gamble at casinos and horse races.  I won some and lost some.  I won $54.20 by betting $2 on the 5 horse in a race.  His odds were at 60 to 1.  I bet him to place.  I won $1,000 between Majestic Star and Trump casinos in Indiana.  I missed my bus and ended up taking a cab home.  I don't gamble now because I cannot afford to.

I don't gamble. I believe that I don't have enough money to just threw away. I hope you had fun at lease since you lost a whole lot of money. OUCH!

Try not to do that again. You work so hard for your money just to threw it away. Most of the time you will loose you might win once in awhile, but you will loose more than you win, so watch out not to get in that habit of gambling it could get addictive.  Good luck and be very careful.  ;)

I don't gamble.  I learned early on how hard it was to earn money so the idea of losing it on a chance doesn't intrigue me.

I've told people before to only gamble as much as you can afford to lose.  Most people seem to forget the last word of the sentence.  Yes, you may win the next time, but you might not, and that's the problem.  So many people think that they will win the next time, hence why they put their entire paycheck or house deed on the line hoping that they will win big on the next roll.

I used "as much as you can afford to lose" in respect to earning online also.  People dump their money into referrals or membership upgrades on other sites, and while that works out if you make it back, most of the time people don't check to ensure that they will get it back, or better yet, they don't ensure they make a profit with it.

I've gambled before and have lost too, so I understand. But I've learned to set limits, both on how much to lose as well as how much to win... People tend to set a limit on how much they are willing to lose but don't set a limit for how much they'll win. And so usually what happens is that a person may start out on a winning streak and keeps playing. Then their luck turns and they start losing more than they're winning. and Eventually they end up hitting their losing limit and leave the casino in the hole. If, on the other hand, they had set an upper limit as well, they'd have left earlier, but would have made money instead of losing it.

So for example, I'll set a $100 limit as how much I'm willing to lose (figuring that I'd spend that if I went out for dinner, a movie, and a few cocktails afterwards... think of losing money is equal to spending money on entertainment), so I "buy" $100 in chips, and that is the last time I pull any money out of my wallet (sometimes I'll even lock my wallet in my car so that I'm not tempted to use the ATM, etc.). Then I set my upper limit as twice that, so I also quit once I've reached $200 in chips (although this is more of a "soft" limit.. I'll explain next). Basically with having the upper limit, this is more of a guide as to when I should start thinking of quitting... Once I've made over $200, I'll cash out $100 and put that in my wallet and play with the remaining $100. And when that chip count gets to $200, I'll again cash-out $100 and play with the remaining $100, and the process repeats again. By doing this, I'll make sure that when my luck turns unlucky, I'll still leave with a profit (or at worst, break even). I may also use the upper limit such that once I've passed it, if I lose 3 times in a row, my luck has changed, so I quit. Usually I'll do this the first time I pass the upper limit (so that I'll stop when I have a profit instead of just breaking even), and then if I pass the upper limit again, I just play that $100 all the way through.
