Had trouble wish to apologize to FusionCash
« on: April 19, 2013, 08:33:00 am »
I wish to apologize fully and utterly completely to support and FusionCash staff.

I went ballistic regarding ID verification process. It was due to the fact that my driver's license background obscured the data in the fax. I am sure I am not the only person who had this problem - I'm just the one who screamed the loudest.

FusionCash support showed me the resulting fax and it was unreadable. They suggested for one time only to use email. I said  I would via PGP encryption but they said no.

I never had so much problems with Amazon turk - AMT has a system of where a person can securely upload a scanned image of photo ID without no problems of degradation of image quality. Why FusionCash is stuck in the 70's by using a fax  is beyond me. Nobody faxes anymore. I faxed repeatedly and I'm lucky I didn't have to pay for the fax as most people would have to.

I suggest in this post to FusionCash to get into the 21st century and upgrade support so that users who have to prove who they are do not have to do acrobatic contortions with the scanned image with photoshopping so that the fax sent will be readable.

If only FusionCash had an secured online file transfer my ranting and raving, tearing out of the hair and gnashing of the teeth would have all been avoided.

So, today I will fax one more time. I scanned my driver's license, and using Paint Shop Pro, lowered the colors to 16 and then edited the palette so that the background would disappear but then the information started to degrade. I had to play with it for an hour to get a good black & white 16 grey image . This is the last time I'm faxing. If they don't accept it, I told support that I would have to send a copy via snail mail in order to get verified.

SIGH ********
Well tried to fax to 714-646-5030 and guess what? unable to fax - hmmm strange.
Tried 6 times - same number as I did before I guess I'll have to ask support to give me snail mail address because I've already spent hours and hours uprooting trees shrubs and flowers just trying to get my lousy payout. JFC - WTF is the SNAFU or FUBAR?

Unfortunately, FC's not the only GPT site still using fax! :( But I'm glad to hear that you've been able to communicate with FC's support and now know why your initial fax was rejected. :)

Good luck! I hope that this time the fax will be legible!

Why don't you just use the phone verification? I did! A free automated call calls you and gives you a verification number to activate your account! :) It's free, fast and easy!  ;)

They didn't me a phone verification choice. The sole choice was was only fax. (See screenshot on original rant)

Yes I am lousy at apologies because my only model are nonapologies from politicians on TV. All I am capable of doing is to cut and paste the following:

"Alright, alright I apologize I'm really, really sorry. I apologize unreservedly. I offer a complete and utter retraction. The imputation was totally without basis in fact and was in no way fair comment and was motivated purely by malice and I deeply regret any distress that my comments may have caused you or your family and I hereby undertake not to repeat any such slander at any time in the future." (A Fish Called Wanda)

Your cashout request for $28.20 has been approved and processed.

You can expect your payment in 2-3 weeks.
Thanks for using FusionCash, and enjoy your money!

Oh Yeah - BTW The fax machine was invented before the telephone  FusionCash still needs to update verification system so able to upload image via https:/ because more and more state driver's licenses are going to have a picture in the background for the sole purpose of not being able to replicate the image.

I have a hard time believing that the image wasn't readable but FusionCash show me the image via support and it was like cubic art. I don't know why is was so bad, probably some sort of compatibility problem and ended up with the lowest resolution. Who TF knows.

i find it ludicrous that with over 20 security features that include UV and holographic technology that FusionCash expects or accepts Photo ID's on the lowest possible resolution as part of their so-called security. I find this experience very telling that FusionCash needs to upgrade something in the verification system.

Because FusionCash state that, "Fraud is one of our largest expenses, and your cooperation in this matter helps us keep those costs down so that we can continue to offer the best payouts."

If this is true then they should figure out that upgrading system may in the long  run - save them money from less fraud because the image I gave them was 2-color. Although I thank them for paying, something needs to be changed. Network security should not be looked as only a cost. I hope the best for FusionCash and that they continue  to flourish.

It may seem crazy but there are legitimate reasons for requiring a fax transmission instead of a photo upload.  PayPal, and many other financial institutions still use faxes for exactly that reason.  I know FC's site design hasn't been updated in a while, but everything behind the scenes is totally up to date.

In any case, I'm glad you were able to get your ID approved and payment disbursed.  While the substance of the apology was a bit lacking, the fact that you posted one at all puts you ahead of 90% of so-called "loud screamers" - so I'm pleased.

For what it's worth, when Amazon Payments had trouble verifying my account so that I could cash out at MTurk, they requested a fax of my driver's license as well. I know I've faxed to another GPT site also. It's really only a minor inconvenience for essentially free money.

mawhite63: I disagree with the term "free money" - unless you are digitally panhandling. I feel that comment means that you have no regard for your own time if you are doing FusionCash surveys or you are disregarding other mturkers who transcribe audio - the majority of jobs on AMT.

It's bad enough when requestors have little of no regard for a person's time who is making less than 1/2 the minimum wage but it is understandable in a commodified world where money=prestige.

BTW: I did try a paypal tip jar - didn't work, but on AMT survey on subjects that I have already written about on Hubpages or Yahoo! I do digitally panhandle and ask for a bonus based on all the extra feedback I gave. It works. I get only 25 cents bonus but at least I'm not standing in the hot sun or a cold windy day doing the Obama refrain: "Change? .... Change?"

I don't write so much in 2013 since - I wasn't making a goodly amount of money and decided to try all these Ejobs. I focused on FusionCash & AMT because I'm doing this for cash. and not for prizes or 'points'. I can't type fast enough for transcription. I've tried and ended up making about $1.56/hour. I do not consider it 'free cash' because time is money. I like to write as therapy. As evident in my postings I'm am very passionate and a slave to my emotions but I really try to inject some comedic relief.

Chung Mee: Opium is my business. The bridge mean more traffic. More traffic mean more money. More money mean more power.
Lawrence Bourne III: Yeah, well, before I commit any of that to memory, would there be anything in this for me?
Chung Mee: Speed is important in business. Time is money.
Lawrence Bourne III: You said opium was money.
Chung Mee: Money is Money.
Lawrence Bourne III: Well then, what is time again?

Other e-jobs that I was unimpressed with: crowdflower, copyscape, scribie, freearticlespinner, clixsense, minuteworkers, microworkers, prizerebel, zoombucks, jobboy, shorttask, clickworker, crowdflower, millisecond and crowdmed.

Big data and data exhaust was used during the FBI's investigation that crowdsourced  photos and lead to the bombers. That was all done as a civic duty and not for money.  Bless all who posted pictures and videos online that lead to the capture of these despicable criminals. -
